Xue rubbed her face on a smooth and warm surface, it was so nice to rub her cheek on it. She even stretched out her arms to hug the source of heat. Then, she suddenly opened her eyes and the view froze her. A handsome profile greeted her, it was young master Zhang. Or to be correct, her husband. His relaxed features were softer, he looked pretty good without the cold expression.
She carefully crawled out of the bed, she didn't want to be caught in such an awkward situation. As soon her toes touched the chilling floor, she immediately pulled her leg back. She gritted her teeth and fled towards the bathroom, not forgetting to grab some clothes. She swiftly locked the door, leaning on it, took a few deep breaths while patting her chest. In front of her there was a mirror above the sink, clean towels and daily items were neatly arranged on the shelves.
Xue looked around, whoever tidied up this place was a clean freak, as if each object was placed with precision and careful study. Then she recalled the scene from before….. She was literally spread on his chest with her face glued on his pectoral. She slapped her forehead, what on earth happened last night ?. Her brain could only remember that she passed out after the shower and burrowing herself under the blankets. She didn't even notice when he lay down next her, what a sleepyhead. But the problems weren't those, but rather how she ended up in that position. As her brain was rummaging through all the possible causes of her behavior, a knock startled her. " Miss Xue ? Are you here, do you feel unwell somewhere ? ", a husky voice drifted behind the door. Her cheek flushed as flapped her arms trying to grab what she needed to clean herself, " I, I'm okay. I'll be out in five minutes ".
Cheng Feng looked at the locked door frame, arching one brow. She went in almost a half-hour ago, he couldn't help but to check if she was alright. When she wriggled out from the bed, he was already awake a long time ago, but strangely he just wanted to stay a bit more in that cozy warmth. When was the last time he had such a feeling ? His eyes were half squinted as they followed the slim figure scuttling away stealthy, a snort almost escaped from his mouth. This side of her was surely entertaining, he thought that she was a calm and poised type. This was what he could tell from her gesture and actions, clearly he didn't expect to see this goofy escape. Unknowingly, his lips curved up, as he waited for her.
" I'm ready ", she walked out wearing a soft long dress, a thin belt emphasizing her slender waist. He stood up, closing the distance between them, his fingers tucked some loose hair strands behind her ears. Surprise flashed in her eyes, as she stepped back, " I'll tidy up the bedroom ", she hurried to pick up clothes that were casually left across the room, especially her bridal dress. He narrowed his eyes, " Leave this work to the maids, you can go to have breakfast first. I'll come later ".
Xue nodded and still put away her things and left him on the bed, not after glancing at his morning look. Messy hair, loose half-buttoned shirt, those gave him the appearance of a troublesome young master from a wealthy family. The outline of his muscles could be glimpsed too.. After this, she left the room, her ears were still hot, as she reached the dining room. Along the corridor, some maid politely greeted her while doing their chores.
" Morning girl, did you sleep well ? ", the old patriarch cheerfully waved at her. He stared at her for a moment, " Mn, you'd better take off those wigs and things while you're at home. They look quite troublesome to wear ". Xue smiled, this elder clearly wasn't startled by her natural appearance and even worried about her being comfortable. " Sure patriarch Zhang ", " Girl, you can call me grandpa too, as Feng' er does ". She nodded, she sat on his left, waiting for Cheng Feng to come. Since she was a bit nervous, her stomach was tightly shut, she was in an unfamiliar place afterall.
While the breakfast was served, he arrived, " You brat, did you forget your manner, letting this old man wait ! ". '' Grandpa, I'm punctual, the meal starts exactly at 8 a.m. You are the one early, as always ". He fixed his tie as he sat next to her, " Serve Xue's meal first, it shouldn't get cold ", he called one of the servants, " Thank you ". The elder glanced at those two, inwardly approving of grandson's actions, but he showed an annoyed expression outside, " What are you doing, uh ? Your honeymoon still hasn't started, save those lovey-dovey things for later. It's still 8 in the morning, just eat, tch, youngsters…. ", he grumbles as he took a spoonful of the congee. Xue giggled as she followed his action, this remark made her nerves relax. Next to her, Cheng Feng was a bit distracted by her smile, it was so mesmerizing. Only a hard kick on his shin awakened him, he glared at the old man who was snickering under his beard, those interactions went unnoticed by Xue. The latter was happily savoring the food in front of her and maids retreated while holding their smiles.
After the breakfast, they bid farewell to grandpa Zhang and left although he wanted them to stay a bit longer. Outside, assistant Lu was already ready with the car, he was counting each minute and seconds. This was one of the points that his employer appreciated. " Morning Mr and Mrs Zhang ", Xue smiled and waved her hand as her husband opened the car's door. " Drive back home, is everything ready here ? ", " Yes, we've got everything prepared as you asked ".
