In the Wheatfield Village, the situation was lively and warm. Compared to before, there was clearly a stark difference where now all of them did not have unease and fear that could be told just by seeing their faces.
In this very village, an activity was being done by a group of people. They had serious and tense expressions on their faces. Almost all of them were injured from the war that they had been into before, where they were defeated and fell from their previous position.
They were like the kings in this village, but now they were just a group of prisoners that had been captured by the very same people that they ruled over a few days ago.
"Do you think this is truly the right time?" A man said with a low voice as he asked with clear apprehension inside of his vocal. His demeanor was like how a man would face the judgment that was going to be done onto him.
"There is no better choice than this! That man had gone to that village and what kind of action do you think is the best if not now?" The man who was being asked answered with no hesitation. He tried to sound convincing, but his heart was beating fast. He had yet again decided to gamble with this decision. It was all in all all out.
The way they communicated was quite unique. The man who asked was located in a different cell, while the man who was being asked was located in another cell. They communicated by relaying this message through their inmates, and then the man who was close to the walls would relay the messages to the other side by saying it in a low voice, as if afraid of alarming the guards that were supposedly guarding this place.
The walls are only made of a not so thick layer of wood, so one side could still hear voices from the other side of the wall.
"I mean it is truly weird for you to reject this notion of us. Don't you already know that the dice had been rolled and we cannot undo what we have done?
I have decided to offend him and no one of you even speaks a word against it."
Arin wanted to retort that it was because Alvred's decision was so abrupt that they did not have no choice but to comply with his plan. But Alvred had a point there, he had chosen not to forsake Alvred's decision too. There was no other option for them, honestly.
"Firstly, I lied to him that the real treasure troves were located in that Willow Village. Secondly, I also in a sense also lied to him, where I did not specify where the exact spot for the treasure troves was. I deliberately said that it was out in the open and could be deduced by a single glance, but we know it better don't we?
If one were to flip up each one of the rocks to find that spot, then they would need more than a week to find it. I don't know what kind of choice that he makes, either trying to search it by himself with his arrogant eyes or something, but if he was a normal guy, he would choose to go back here in this village yet again.
And if he was to arrive here and we did not go at that moment of time, we would literally be freaked in a literal sense."
Some of them wanted to laugh when they heard what Alvred just said, but they did not dare to. Because the situation was not in their favor for them to be joking or try to be funny.
And the reason why they were surprised, speechless, or shocked when Alvred was explaining the location to Enjar was this very reason. Alvred had decided to bait Enjar out of this village, and escape from here!
The reason they had come to this very village was to take out some treasure troves that somehow their upper echelons were able to get the information into their hands. The treasure troves that were in the information were located in two places, Willow Village and Wheatfield Village.
The treasure troves that were located in the Willow Village could not be compared to what they had found in this Wheatfield Village! It was like a hundred times better than the ones in the Willow Village.
The reason why they put so many men into the Willow Village before they were captured was because they wanted to fool the others if somehow they had this information about this occupation. They had acted like some bandits, and took over this Willow Village which was bigger in size and better in most aspects.
If one was to see this, he would assume that it made sense. The Wheatfield Village was a village that could be seen as a remote village. It was like a corner, where the only way to enter this village was through the Willow Village.
Secondly, Willow Village could become the garrison to protect their plan if somehow some party decided to act against them. They had built an impressive system of walls and gates that was located at the front part, the part where the village faced the outer world?
But how could they know that a random man would suddenly attack them from behind, a part where they did not even put so much effort to build the gates, walls, and such? That was like a slap in the face to their efforts and all! Truly one of the moments of all time.
The treasure troves that were located in the Willow Village was a gift that were given onto them by their upper men. That was why Alvred was so excited when the time to get these troves had come, which indicated that the time to end this operation had come.
He had been so careful about these special troves that he did not even try to come back toward this place and forbid his men to come to this place because he was afraid of attracting some attention. The Willow Village acted as the front after all, they could not be negligent about it.
He was so careful that he put quite an effort to disguise his special troves. And when the time to take the troves had come, a random man decided to attack them from the ass. A location that they did not foresaw in a hundred years. How could he not be angry about this?!
All the taxes that he had gotten and put to the villagers were not that important to them at all. Yes, they might be quite a sum of money. But this was not the true objective of their plans, and it could not be compared. Especially when the funds that he had collected from the villagers were to be put into funding the construction of gates and walls.
And now, it was but a naught dream to achieve. He could only complete the mission that was given to him and be done with it. He might be getting some of the troves that were located in this village if he were to explain about this inexplicable situation to the upper ups.
That would only end with 2 things, either they would win by getting out of this place alive, or getting captured yet again and be punished by that very man who had subjugated them singlehandedly. Without this man that seemingly came out of nowhere, they would never even think that these villagers would dare to go against them in a hundred years.
A bet that would probably change their lives forever.
"In any case, we don't have much time. We need to use our time efficiently. Let's do what he had discussed earlier and be done with it." Alvred said as he stood up from his place. He had a grim face as he looked toward the door behind the very recently made up cells in front of him.
If Enjar was in the Willow Village, which was like a door for this Wheatfield Village as it was the only way to reach this place, then where could they run off too? It was none other than through the mountains that half circled the village!
