"Well, I didn't know they would be planning something like this, Chloe. You must have been startled." Irvyn turned at the woman, standing right there with a flabbergasted expression on her face.
"Very much, Irvyn." Her response was immediate, but the shock was still there. "But, it's fine... it's nice to see you enjoying things now... with some new friends." Her eyes scanned over Yvette and Summer once, before moving back towards Irvyn. "Well, since you don't mind getting birthday wishes anymore, many many happy returns of the day Irvyn." She walked a few steps ahead, getting closer, and extended her hands for a handshake.
"Thanks." He took the hand gladly, and gave it a polite shake, acknowledging her wish. "It's been a pleasure to have your well wishes."
