"Oh my, look who is this!" Mrs. Mary Brown exclaimed the moment she saw two young people getting into the orphanage, and one of them was someone so dear to her that she couldn't help but get up from her chair, leaving the newspaper behind.
"Merry Christmas, Mrs. Brown." Yvette showed a bright looking smile at the lady, while greeting her.
"Merry Christmas, my dear Yve." Mrs. Brown came forward, pulling Yvette into a warm embrace. "It's been so long since I saw you, honey. How have you been?"
"I'm good, by your good wishes," Yvette responded in a low voice, her eyes getting blurry by how emotional she felt by that hug. It's been so long since she was pulled in a warm hug like that, and Mrs. Brown has been an elder who really showed her love unconditionally, despite them having no blood relation whatsoever. Yvette really missed this woman, and the warmth this entire place gives her.
