Yvette unlocked the door of the house, and stepped inside. What welcomed her was a dark house ripped off of every light possible. Even the curtains were probably drawn close, since the light from the entrance wasn't even able to get through.
"Is no one home right now?" She spoke up to herself, trying to change into a home slipper by guessing. The switchboard was at the end of the living room, along the way the stairs are, so she would need to get inside the house to get the lights switched on.
But while she was rummaging into the box where all the shoes were kept, the living room suddenly lit up, somehow blinding Yvette. She was almost getting used to the darkness by now, so the sudden light hitting her eyes made them hurt.
"Sorry to disappoint you, honey." An annoying male voice spoke up from a little further in the living room, directed to her. "The house isn't really empty. I still am here."
