Rick turned his head towards the entrace, when Irvyn came in the house unlocking the door. "Welcome home."
"You would be the last person I'd want to be welcomed by." Irvyn pulled up an annoyed face at the sight of the guy sitting in his living room. He never thought a mere high schooler would be this much pain in his ass for days now. He never liked people who act unnecessarily cocky from way back to his younger days, and this boy surpasses every limit of cockiness to him.
"As if I want to greet you either," Rick muttered in a low voice, dripping annoyance in his words. "I was just being modest here. That's all."
"I am honored, oh young sir." Irvyn dramatically spoke up loudly. Without making any more eye contact with the boy or talking any further, he took a seat on the sofa, pulling his necktie loose with one hand and unbuttoning the topmost button of his shirt after putting his blazer away. "She didn't get ready yet?"
