Chereads / Devine Slayer: The Lost Atlantis / Chapter 4 - Deep Conversation with Gilgamesh

Chapter 4 - Deep Conversation with Gilgamesh

It's kind of unexpected for me to see Gilgamesh in real life, he is so much more humanoid. This time he wore a black suit that blended perfectly with his dark blue polo. It looked even more elegant with his chino slacks with casual black leather shoes.

But still, his beard didn't suit his face...

The other thing that was catching my eyes is the decoration of the room that is actually beyond the tech that we had. The room is built in a rectangle that consists of many hexagon shaped white lights on the ceiling. The walls around the room fill with hologram computer devices that are full with the data which I don't even understand about. The floor texture is exactly the same as the ceiling but it is made of steel. The only things that did not match the room were the long dine table and chair that exactly lie in the middle of the room.

"Ah… My great great grandson, welcome to my humble place." He said, somehow he even looked more nervous than I am. "You must be hungry, perhaps you won't mind having dinner with me?"

"Yo, Kaylie…" I elbowed her arms gently and whispered to her. "Don't you think he is a little bit weird?"

"What do you mean?" She whispered back to me.

"Well, he doesn't sound like this when he is in my dream." I told her.

"He is always like that, I guess???" She convinced me.

"You know that doesn't sound convincing to me right?" I told her.

"Splendid, both of you are already close for such a short time. Shall we eat our food then son?" He interrupted our conversations.

"Y… Yes… uhm… sir?" I hesitate. " Okay, how am I supposed to call you?"

"Call me Ayaya." Gilgamesh said.

"Ay what?" Even my tongue was asking a question about this word.

"Ayaya." Kaylie said. "It means grandfather in Akkadian."

"So... should I call him Ayayayaya?" I asked. "He is a great great grandfather."

"You do realize that you sound stupid with that words right?" Kaylie seemed annoyed with my words.

"Just call me Ayah son, it's an Indonesian word that you know right?" Gilgamesh asked.

"I --- prefer to call you Grandpa. It's much more comfortable for me" I said, while we sat down on the chair. I am not gonna lie, the food on the table looks delicious.

"Fair enough, so --- I'm supposed to answer your question right?" Gilgamesh reminded me about those questions I was about to ask last time.

"Right… Thanks for reminding me about that." I said. "Listen, I don't know what this is all about, but why am I involved here?"

"Have you ever been familiar with mythologies?" Gilgamesh asked while he poured the wine on his glass. "Want some wine?"

"No thanks, but I know a little bit about the mythologies." I answered.

"What if I tell you they exist?" He asked me again.

"We all know they are just a myth." I said. "At least my logic says so."

There was a silence between us for a few seconds. Gilgamesh was playing with his beard, somehow he tried to construct some words to convince me that time.

"Your logic makes sense, young one. but the truth is--- they exist."

I was surprised with what he said, how could he be so sure to say those divines exist to me? For the entire twenty two years of my life, gods and goddesses are just tales for mankind.

"That doesn't convince you I supposed." He said and he was right about it.

"Enlighten me." I gave him the benefit of the doubt.

Gilgamesh put down his wine glass and leaned his chin on his both arms, then he seriously stared at me.

"The creation of us started when Chaos the Void created the Protogenoi. These Primordial gods were Gaea, Tartarus, Eros, Erebus, Ananke, Hemera, and Nyx. Gaea, the mother of our nature, created this Earth as the place of her soul. Then slowly she began to feel the emptiness on her. Thus, she created three souls from her mind and put them on the body that she created from the clay---" Gilgamesh stopped talking suddenly.

"Kaylie, would you mind showing us?" Gilgamesh asked for her.

"Of course," She said politely. "My pleasure."

She went to the right side of the room's wall and took something from the hologram data. Before Kaylie reached our table, Gilgamesh snapped his right fingers and the dine table moved. The floor under the dine table automatically opened, and lowered the table down. When the floor closes, it somehow pops out holograms in the form of a table. The hologram table slowly formed a real table, but this time there wasn't food on it. Instead, it forms a miniature of a stunning place that looks like a city.

I realized, this is not human technology.

Kaylie put the device that she brought on the top of the table. The device still looked like a hologram with a form of tiny mid-wide eclipse plate.

"I never seen something like this before," I was amazed with what happened. "How did you guys develop it?"

"We didn't Z," She said. "You will know it soon."

The plate was glowing all of the sudden, the light blue color lit up and showed a massive earth hologram.

"Now where were we?" Gilgamesh asked.

"Uhm..." Kaylie reacted. "Clay?"

"Ah… of course," Gilgamesh finally realized it. "Are you ready to listen again son?"

"I'm all ears." I said.

"Gaea named the three of her creations Uranus the sky, Ourea the mountain, Pontus the sea." Gilgamesh continued. "Ananke decided to create one offspring to fill up the earth, she agreed with Gaea to fill the soul in this earth with a body made from clay. Thus, Aether was born."

"Then what happened?" I slowly got interested in the story.

"Gaea mated with the three offspring of her and Ananke mated with Aether." Gilgamesh elaborated the story more. "From Ourea she gave birth to twelve Colossus, from Pontus she gave birth to Khnum and Neith, from Uranus she gave birth to twelve Titans, cyclops and Hecantoncheires. On the other side, Aether and Ananke gave birth to Bor, Bestla, Vili and Ve."

"Am I being lectured about literature or what?" I was confused.

"Z, trust me, this is not literature in the school," Kaylie looked upset to me. "All he's saying is that Greek, Roman, Egyptian, and Norse came from these deities."

"However, the children hate each other," Gilgamesh continued again. "Kronos claimed the land of Greece, and the others went to Rome, Mesopotamia, and Nordic."

"Since then, the war between them on this Earth has never stopped." Kaylie continued the story. "Gaea and Ananke realized that they were making a terrible mistake, and it would cost them a distraction if they kept on going. They decided to ask Prometheus, the brother of Kronos, to keep the world balanced."

"Why did Prometheus decide to help them?" I asked them curiously.

"Because Prometheus knew that everyone would be in danger if the war continued." Kaylie answered. "Prometheus and Ananke noticed every time the four sides were on the battle it's either raining or snowing. These would bring a calamity towards the Earth and eventually destroy all the existence of them."

"Gaea emotion is in touch with the Earth itself---" She said.

"So the soul and emotion of her are one with this planet?" I asked her again.

"Yeah---" She answered me with a soft tone of voice. "Gaea asked Prometheus to create something to stop them. Then, this was the beginning of humans."

"Prometheus created the first three humans, Adam, Eve and Pandora." Gilgamesh followed up the story. "They were made to neutralize the war and bring peace to the Earth."

"However, when the three of them grew up, they had a complicated relationship." Gilagamesh continued the story. "Pandora fell in love with Adam, but he fell in love with Eve. When she knew that both of them fell in love--- she was filled with hatred for both of them. Thus, Pandora betrays everyone by joining the Kronos."

I was literally lost with the story, this is not the kind of story that my teacher told in the class. I never knew Pandora fell for Adam, I didn't even know that Pandora betrayed her race. If only my teacher heard the story--- she would realize her four years in college was a waste of time. That time I realized one thing, love and hate were just a string different towards each other.

"Pandora told all the plans of Gaea and Ananke to Kronos," Gilgamesh didn't stop. "Kronos knew and he was furious with what he heard."

"He then bound Prometheus and hanged him in the caucasus." Gilgamsesh said. " Believe it or not, he was still alive and was chained there."

"Wait---you mean he's still alive and nobody knows or even helps him?" I asked him immediately.

"The chain can only break by the will of Kronus." Kaylie said.

"So what happened to Adam and Eve?" I asked curiously.

"When they knew Prometheus was captured, Gaea moved them to the land where Kronus couldn't find them." Kaylie answered me directly.

"Where?"

Gilgamesh lifted up the hologram city on the table gently, he moved the position of his left hand from the bottom to the left side of the hologram. Then he changed the size of the holographic city to be large by stretching his arms quickly.

"Atlantis---" Gilgamesh showed the details of the city with the larger holographic town.

"This is… Atlantis?" I was amazed with the architecture and the design of the city.

The city looked more advanced than I ever thought.

The arrangement of the city is beautiful. It has three layers of circles with sea water between them. The sea water flowed from the ocean towards the huge canal of the city. The roads were the one connected between the three layers, the city's building somehow has a mixing structure between ancient and modern architecture. On the first layer, there is a pyramid-like building whose top point is a laser pointing towards the sky. The Pyramid is taller than any building around the city. I could see skyscrapers and many buildings all over the second circle. I guess it must be a business and entertain districts on it. The third layer is filled with residential areas and some beautiful parks with complex yet beautiful designs on them. What even makes this city completely gorgeous, is a mountain behind the city. On the hillside of the mountain, there are big fields with advanced fighter jets and many military facilities and buildings. The military headquarters connected to the city with roads. The transportation of the city actually looked like floating vehicles, flying motorbikes, cars, buses, and of course there were ships on the water. Basically the beauty of Atlantis lies in the harmony between nature, ancient - modern city structures and advanced technology on it.

"Unbelievable---" I was completely stunned and amazed with the view from the hologram.

"Beautiful isn't it?" Kaylie said.

"I never seen something like this before, how do you guys develop this hologram technology?" I was curious.

"This is not hologram technology--" Gilgamesh answered me confidently. "This is Atlantean Technology. It's more advanced than any technology on earth."

"You know what? I was wondering why people said Atlantis never existed? If Atlantis lies under Indonesia then how come people never found it?" I was wondering, with my head full with question mark

"Well... you are about to find it out now Z---" Gilgamesh smiled confidently.
