The morning sun rays hit on them Nate changed back to his wolf form while Luna was lying under the cover and both are sleeping peacefully until Aariv came looking for them while shouting and panicking. Both woke up from his sound, and Nate understood from Aariv's face that there is some emergency.
Nate " You go ahead I'll be there Aariv "
Luna looked at Nate cause she can hear clearly what he is saying to Aariv.
Luna " Take me with you, Nate," she said while taking a small step but to her surprise, she fell from the pain she was feeling in her inner thigh.
Nate " Take it easy Luna just take a rest for now I'll take you to the pack house tomorrow and I'll be back as soon as I complete the work so focus only on getting better my love"
Luna blushed at his words and went back to bed while Nate started walking towards the pack house. By the time Nate reached the pack house, he found everyone in the pack was already there crowded while murmuring.
Nate " What happened why are all your faces filled with sorrow? " he asked while looking at the face of his pack members.
Aariv " We lost the lives of two little pups," he said while showing the lifeless body of two little wolves.
Nate is completely taken aback by the scene he is seeing in front of his eyes.
Nate " How does this happen Aariv I asked you to double the security yesterday then how the hell something like this can happen " he growled in anger.
Erick " What's the use in doubling the security when we have the human inside our pack with the full entry "
Nate " Erick what are you trying to say now, that my mate has done all this? "
Erick " Isn't it obvious that she is the only human here look at the pups their blood was drained completely and look at the mark on their wrist it can be done only by humans by the sharp thing they use called a knife. If some other wolf has done this isn't it obvious instead of the knife mark there would be claw marks."
Nate " Erick mind your words you're talking bad about the Luna of this pack. Luna is the mother of this pack why would she even think of doing something like this"
Erick" Because she is a human, this is the reason why the former alpha has forbidden the human mate. All humans are cruel they would just need us werewolves for their research. "
Nate was getting ready to pick a fight but the other pack members were standing by Erick's side. Nate can't hurt his pack members as well as he felt completely helpless at the sight in front of him.
Nate " Why are you doing this to me? Is there not even a single soul that believes in me? "
Luna "Is this how you guys show your respect to your Alpha"
Everyone including Nate was shocked to hear Luna's voice. Nate turned back to see Luna walking towards them.
Nate " Luna how come you are here? I asked you to rest right "
Luna " Of course, you asked me to rest Nate but the sound of you guys talking and shouting was ringing in my head I can't find a way to stop it. So I just get here to make things clear "
" Luna can you hear us and understand us, " one of the wolves asked her.
Luna " Yes I can and for Erick, you doubt that I killed this child but I was with Nate the whole night yesterday as everyone can see we got mated "
Everyone cheered and Luna proved that she is not the culprit. And confusion and fear started to grow about who was doing these murders.
Luna" I'm sure the killer will come for more"
Erick " Nate you said that you ordered to double the protection yesterday night even then the killer has intruded inside our pack he must be a man full of brain"
Luna" No matter how smart he is definitely he will make some mistake" she smirked while looking at Erick.
Erick " Hope he would " he said while avoiding eye contact with Luna.
Luna looked at the children lying in the floor, she went near them and hugged them while taking them in her arms. While seeing this each members of the pack formed a soft corner for Luna in their heart.
Luna " I will make sure the person who did this will suffer more than these children did "
" That's more than enough for us Luna," the children's mother said.
Nate " If you don't mind can you explain to us what happened yesterday from when they were missing to where you found them "
Luna " We are not forcing you but you can answer this then it would help us to take step towards the killer"
" Both of them went out to play afternoon after they came in both were acting strange I tried to speak with them but they ignored then I planned to ask in the morning but when I woke they are not in home I doesn't even notice when they went out after searching a little I found them lying dead" she said and started to cry harder.
Luna comforted her and asked her mate to take her back home. After she left Luna looked around and saw that most of the pack members also left, she signaled Nate to follow her. Luna went straight into the pack house while Nate followed her.
Luna " I'm sure the killer is inside our pack"
Nate " What do you mean? How can you suspect the pack members" there is a slight anger in his tone.
Luna " Do you believe in Erick? I'm not blaming the innocent pack members "
Nate was convinced and started to think about Ericks action
