Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

"are you alright?" Liam asked.

Layla straightened up. "yes, sir Liam!" Her pain fading away.

"didn't I order you to call me brother?" Liam asked.

"I am sorry sir Liam. But I can't call you brother in presence of others, can I?" Layla said

Liam glared at Lucas. "what you looking at? Is this because I hurt her? If yes, I am not gonna apologize" Lucas scoffed.

"May I leave, sir Lucas?" Layla looked at Lucas.

Those cold blue eyes, just like her father. "No. You aren't stepping out alive until you tell me what you read in those" Lucas gripped her neck.

Layla smirked. He was really getting on her nerves. "Sir Lucas. You and I know clearly it is death I want"

His grip tightened. Layla was suffocating.

Liam pulled Lucas's hand away. "Will you stop that?". Layla coughed.

"I dont understand what you see in filth like her. What's wrong with you?" Lucas gripped his shoulders.

Liam rolled his eyes, "Haven't our mom been loving to us? Do you think she will be happy seeing us treating her only child like that?"

"But she is a girl!!!"

"Soon she will be a woman!" Liam shouted. Lucas stilled. The air carrier eeriness with Liam's words. It weighed heavily on Lucas .

"Gosh, Layla why don't you step out a little?" Liam rubbed his forehead.

Layla nodded. Her interest picked. This wasn't normal. What was the deal of her brothers with her mother?

This time Lucas didn't stop her. She stepped out into the corridor and closed the door. She leaned on the wall, her knees buckled. Her head dropped into her knees.

"It's OK. It's OK" She whispered to herself.

"What the hell are you doing on the floor?" A voice shouted.

Layla looked up to find a stranger. Around the age of hers. A bit tall but a child.

"Who are you?"

"I asked a question first, didn't I?" he leaned down to her.

His eyes were silver grey just like a moon, his silver hair fell over his eyes. 'cute'

He snapped his finger in front of her. "What are you staring at?"

Layla blinked. She was too caught up in his silver eyes. " I would advise you to go on your own business, don't you think?"

The stranger scoffed, he dropped down to her level as he stared at her black eyes.

"Aren't you searching something?" He smirked. Layla eyes widened, her lips parted.

His smirk deepened. "Well, you will never find it" and he got up. He turned his back.

"wait, who are you?"

He looked at her from the corner of his eyes, "Someone....." and he disappeared into thin air.

"Hello? Someone? Hey don't leave me hanging!! " she called out.

"who are you calling?" Liam appeared behind her. Layla turned back at him, "No one" she shrugged. Liam's eyebrows quirked.

"Come on in." Liam pulled her in. Lucas was sitting on his bed, his head supported by his hands. "Lucas!" He called out.

Layla looked from Liam to Lucas. What is wrong with those two?

"Sorry. I shouldn't have pushed you like that!" He glared. It wasn't a sincere apology. That she can tell. But why is he apologising in the first place?

"and you can call me brother in presence of Lucas" Liam smiled sheepishly.

Layla looked at Lucas. He turned his head and rolled his eyes that Layla was surprised it didn't fall off.

"Ok brother" Layla replied happily. For some reason ,she felt drawn to Liam.

"Ok. Would you please translate those words to Lucas?" Liam asked with curious eyes.

Layla stared at him. "Don't worry. We won't misuse it!" Lucas mumbled.

Layla sighed. She narrated what it meant. "... there will be no good..." She finished.

She looked at Lucas. He was breathing heavily. "This can't be...."

"yes it is.... Now I shall take her. Would you like to join me?" Liam extended his arm. Layla smiled and hooked her arm around his.

"My pleasure, brother" Layla chirped.

Layla spent most of her time in the library learning and researching. She came across many things she wanted to discover. But occasionally, she was thinking about those silver grey eyes.

And in no time, the day of her training came.
