Day Two…
[ Mission Strategy Number 2: Serve Him Like A King! ]
~~*****~~
After Ethan's nanny whispered something to Abigail, she gave her the phone. Axel wanted to talk to her. Meanwhile, Little Ethan gazed up, observing Abigail's expression as she listened to Axel from the other line. She looked so shocked.
Seeing her getting distracted, the husband and wife immediately motioned their son to follow them and leave quietly. They had forgotten that Nathan Sparks was someone whom they didn't want to offend. Fortunately, this woman reminded them whom they shouldn't challenge!
Teacher Jane could only watch as the family of three, including the two children, walked away, avoiding another argument with Abigail and Ethan.
Teacher Jane could understand that they didn't want to get on the bad side of Nathan Sparks and his family. They might be rich and powerful but still, they were no match against Nathan Sparks.
She somehow felt grateful that this kid's fight had been resolved peacefully, not letting the adults get involved. However, she didn't expect that Little Ethan would punch his classmate. He was always well-behaved.
The nanny motioned Teacher Jane to leave as well. Something was going to happen and she didn't want the teacher to witness the scene. Getting the nanny's signal, Teacher Jane said goodbye, leaving the three of them.
Little Ethan glanced at his nanny, giving her a questioning gaze. Abigail was still engrossed with the phone call so the young boy didn't want to interrupt her.
Abigail didn't say a word until the call ended. Then she glanced at Ethan, smiling at him faintly.
"Who was on the phone? Uncle Axel or my father? Is there something wrong, Miss Abi?" The boy asked her with his curious eyes.
Abigail shook her head. "Everything is fine. Don't worry, Ethan. As I promise, I will never tell you Dad about this." She caressed Ethan's charming face. The young boy just nodded his head, smiling back at Abigail. He felt reassured now.
"Thanks, Miss Abi," Ethan hugged Abigail once again, wrapping his small arms around her legs.
Abigail stroked his head, showing him the lunchbox she prepared for him.
"Have you finished eating your lunch? If not, I brought a lunchbox. I made it personally… for you."
Ethan's eyes sparkled with delight as soon as he saw the lunchbox. He released her from his grasp in order to grab the lunchbox in Abigail's hands.
Just a while ago, his bully classmates were trying to flex their lunchboxes to him. Who would have thought that Abigail would make one for him? He felt so happy and touched!
He couldn't contain his joy. Because of that, the little young boy's attention had been diverted. He had forgotten about the phone call that made Abigail speechless a while ago.
"Thank you for this, Miss Abi! I love it!" Ethan's doe-like eyes were looking at her filled with gratitude.
Abigail just ruffled his hair affectionately and said, "Go and eat your lunch now. I need to go somewhere."
Ethan pouted his small lips and asked, "Where are you going, Miss Abi? Why don't you accompany me while I eat?" Ethan gave her a pleading look.
Abigail took a deep sigh. She could see the men in black coming their way. She couldn't stay there longer. The bodyguards were there to fetch her. It was an order from Axel…or rather, it was an order from the Devil, himself.
"I'm sorry, Little Ethan. I can't accompany you today. I will make it up to you next time."
"Okay," he said in his sad tone. "But Miss Abi… can you make another lunchbox for me tomorrow?"
Abigail bobbed her head as a response. The smile on Ethan's lips returned when Abigail agreed to cook for him once again. He would look forward to that.
While Ethan was happily checking his lunchbox, Abigail glanced at his nanny meaningfully. Then she finally said goodbye to them.
Abigail didn't wait for the bodyguards to come. She voluntarily walked towards them. Five bodyguards came to fetch her. They were looking daggers at her. One guy yanked her elbow, pulling her towards the black car.
"You have to come with us! How dare you try to poison our Boss!" The team leader was so angry at Abigail.
Abigail frowned. She didn't know why they were accusing her of poisoning their CEO. She didn't put poison on his food. She was being accused wrongly!
But on a positive note, she found out that the Devil ate the lunchbox she prepared for him.
'What happened to him? I need to find out.' Abigail thought to herself. She followed them obediently to know the reason why Nathan and his men were accusing her of the thing she didn't do.
As she was trained to deal with anything in a difficult situation, Abigail remained calm although she knew that she was in trouble.
She stepped into the car, sitting in the back passenger seat. Two guards sat down on her left and right side as if securing her not to escape from them.
She closed her eyes, leaning her head on the headrest of the seat. She kept replaying in her mind how she cooked the food. She was certain that she didn't mix anything on the menu. She followed every instruction and only put the ingredients written in the Recipe Book.
'Did someone put something in it? Chef Min or one of his assistants? No! That's impossible. I stayed with the food the whole time, decorating the lunchbox. No one touched the food except me, Butler Li, and the family Chauffeur who delivered the food to Nathan's office.
Abigail was still lost in her own thoughts when one of the bodyguards spoke up once again. "You can't escape now so better tell the truth later on. Our Master might still lessen your punishment. This is just friendly advice."
Abigail raised her eyebrows and spat back, "We are not friends. I don't need your so-called friendly advice. Just keep it to yourself."
"Pffft," the driver tried to hold his laughter. This lady was so bold and brave. She didn't feel frightened at all even though she was surrounded by Nathan's bodyguards.
The bodyguard who got humiliated by Abigail's answer was about to slap her when another bodyguard stopped his comrade.
"Don't touch her. Do you want to lose your job? Boss didn't order us to lay a finger on her. We just have to bring her to the HQ," he reminded him.
Abigail frowned when she heard that. 'HQ? They are not bringing me to the SYP Starlight Corp. This is not also the way to the Sparks Villa. Don't tell me… they are bringing me to the Syphiruz Headquarters?!'
