Inside a small room, sunlight streamed through the glass windows and illuminated the face of a young man with long black hair and pale skin. He woke up with a big headache.
"Shit, this damn nightmare won't go away from my mind!"
Sebastian has had the same nightmare since the day he was kidnapped and used in some sort of evil ritual. The kidnapping took place three days ago.
Whenever he remembered that occasion, he felt a great chill run up his spine. Despite having his body possessed, he remained conscious and witnessed everything he did to the children.
Those huge chunks of flesh, the feeling of having blood running down his throat… the more he thought about it, the more sickened he felt.
Sebastian took a deep breath and got up from the bed: "Just wait, if you're alive, you can be sure I'll return everything you've done!"
Initially, he was quite excited when his father decided to send him to the Burning Church Academy, which is the main school of the Church. Only the best and most talented young people can study there. So he quickly took the first train towards the City of Henford, but the kidnapping incident happened shortly afterward and dampened his excitement a little, it also alerted him that he was no longer under his father's protection.
Remembering his damned father, Baron John Lennox, Sebastian sighed in displeasure. Since he is the youngest son, he cannot inherit his father's estate. Everything will go to your big brother.
What's left for him is to be a mere helper to his brother or go to the Burning Church Academy. Of course, Sebastian chose the latter option, which led to his capture.
Clearing your mind of all these thoughts. Sebastian thought of something even more important.
"What an interesting power." He got excited.
The day after the kidnapping, Sebastian discovered that he could instinctively make objects around him "float" or "fall" for a few seconds. No, it was not as simple as manipulating an object and making it float or fall directly, the most correct to define is that it could manipulate something in the environment, and make those objects more or less heavy.
During his unconsciousness, knowledge appeared in his mind as if he had possessed it from birth. Controlling that power was like raising your arms or wiggling your fingers.
"It's called gravity, huh. Interesting." Sebastian thought enthusiastically.
The day after the kidnapping, the Church members who rescued him were outside the room. Sebastian vividly remembers when he was testing his power and levitated a small pen that was on the table beside his bed.
He had a big scare when Church members walked in unannounced at that moment and almost caught him, luckily he lifted the pen just a few inches and reacted quickly. They didn't notice anything.
When Church members asked him what happened in the forest, he replied that he was unconscious and had almost nothing to remember. Sebastian couldn't help but laugh bitterly as he remembered the strange faces of the Church members as they looked at each other.
Joke, how dare Sebastian say what happened? Should he say he was possessed and devoured some children? He would never say such a thing, even if he is innocent. Many people would probably see him as a monster. No, they would certainly see him as a monster! That would make his life very difficult.
"Let them ask the other boy." He smiled with the corner of his lips as he remembered that that last boy had always been unconscious.
Thinking of the Church members, Sebastian felt a little angry. If it weren't for their bad work, he wouldn't be forced to eat human flesh.
The clerics explained that they were researching traces of cult activity in the city of Molen, the place Sebastian was about to arrive when he was captured.
They said the cultists acted suddenly, leaving no reaction time for them. When they arrived at the scene, they came across the scene of cultists singing and the body of two young men on the ground, one of the young men was Sebastian.
While still unconscious on the forest floor, the clerics searched his clothing for clues to his identity and found the Church's recruiting invitation, and using airships from the city of Molen, they ended up taking Sebastian personally to the Burning Church Academy in Henford. Where Sebastian is currently.
After asking questions and finding that he didn't remember any useful information, they apologized on behalf of the Church for what had happened and left.
"Excuses? Your apologies will make me forget the taste of human flesh?!" Sebastian gritted his teeth because of the simple request.
Grabbing some water from the table beside the bed, Sebastian thought with an odd smile. "Did the ritual grant me these powers? If that's the reason, then I should properly thank the cultists, hehe."
Sebastian still hasn't dared to use much of his new power at the Academy, the clerics left recently and he didn't want to draw attention, as they would think his new ability has to do with ritual. It will wait a while to test properly.
Looking at the clock, Sebastian saw that it was already seven in the morning, he was a little late for breakfast. Classes will start today.
He went to the bathroom, brushed his teeth and showered.
Looking at the uniform he would have to wear from now on, Sebastian felt a little refreshed. The uniform contained black shoes, black pants, and a white long-sleeved shirt with a dragon-shaped insignia on the left side of the chest.
After dressing and tying his long hair in a ponytail, Sebastian looked handsome and elegant.
Leaving his room, he found himself in a large hallway with wooden floors and red-painted walls. Several brown doors that were similar to his stretched along the walls on either side of the hallway.
Many vigorous young men in similar uniforms chatted among themselves as they walked. The hallway was noisy.
After locking the door to his room, Sebastian hurriedly walked across the wooden floor, down the delicate stairs, and into the dining hall on the first floor.
"Sebastian, wait!" Someone yelled.
Looking back, Sebastian quickly recognized the owner of the voice.
It was a boy he had recently met and who had a room next to his.
"Hello, Sam." Sebastian stopped.
A young man with short brown hair and a few freckles on his face approached.
"Why did not you wait for me?" Sam Johnson quickly fixed his uniform, which was a bit messy from the race.
"Oh, forgive me. I'm in a hurry. If we take longer, we'll miss the mealtime. Let's go!" Sebastian resumed his walk with Sam close behind.
After standing in line and getting their food, Sam and Sebastian sat down together and started to eat.
"Hey, is it true that you were kidnapped by cultists?" Sam asked with great curiosity.
"I already said yes, why do you still ask?"
"If you ask me to tell you what happened there, I'll tell you: I don't remember anything." Sebastian replied with a tired sigh.
Sam scoffed, "Oh, stop it. I know you remember. I won't tell anyone. You can tell me, I'll be your friend. Hahahaha."
"I said, I don't remember. By the way, how do you know I was captured?" Sebastian was intrigued. He arrived here two days ago and such sensitive information was leaked? He cursed the clerics even more in his mind.
Sam smiled with an air of mystery: "How do I know? Tell me what happened and I'll give you that information."
"Forget it then, I don't want to know anymore. Let's eat soon, the first class will start." Sebastian gave up.
Sam replied with sparkling eyes, "Yes, I'm looking forward to learning about magical animals, I heard that the teacher in this class is beautiful."
"What bloody world do you live in? Just the first day and you managed to mess up the classes?! Sebastian widened his eyes at Sam's ability.
Sam scratched his head a little embarrassed: "So what is it?"
"Class today is about magic in the training grounds. Enough of that and come on, we're going to be late." Sebastian sighed…he felt the days were going to be hard.
