"I don't have a problem with the honor system," you say. "But I think Blaise Marechal does."
Blaise splutters and protests. "Pedro's being ridiculous. I mean, look at his parents—how can you expect someone from a family like that to be honest?"
Lady Renaldt turns her attention to Blaise. Very quietly, she says, "You appear very…invested in .'s situation."
"Of course I am!" Blaise says. "I want the college to be the best it can be, Lady Renaldt, as much as you do."
Lady Renaldt does not rise to the bait. "That's the teachers' concern, Mx. Marechal, not yours."
Beneath her implacable stare, Blaise loses any appearance of strength they might have had. They just look like the petulant adolescent that they are. Furious tears standing in their eyes, Blaise leaps to their feet.
"Pedro needs to be gone! I was just showing everyone what would happen if he stayed!"
