(James' POV)
As I made my resolve, I immediately tossed off the idea of running away from this place. I had to survive the prologue, and the starting point of that was most likely this academy.
"System, you said that I need to download the resources of this World before I take any step, right?"
[Affirmative!]
"Then... continue the download"
[Ding!]
[The download of this World's resources has been continued]
[Download in progress... ]
[1%]
[2%]
"How long will it take?"
[The download would take at least 5 minutes]
Five minutes huh, so I needed to wait for that time before I made any step. If the resources were the same as what I had perceived, then they would contain the data about this world.
Most likely, that would include the data about this body that my soul settled in and also, the event that was currently happening.
Just what did the students mean by getting the random box? Awakening? I needed to get the necessary information before I took any further action…
But before all, I wanted to know just how long would this prologue take? After all, Hope only had 26 more days to live
[The system currently has no data in regards to the Host's query]
[It is recommended for the Host to wait for the resource download to finish as that may contain the needed data]
I see.
Since I had to wait for the download to finish, I might as well familiarize myself with my surroundings.
I scanned the entirety of the area.
In front of me was the crowd of students that I saw earlier. They were wearing the uniform consisting of blue long sleeves, blue slacks, and shoes for men. Meanwhile, the girls wore the usual knee-length skirt and also blue tops with sleeves.
Some students were excited about the event and I also saw some who were planning to leave the venue as I did earlier. Some were flabbergasted, shocked, and cautious. I couldn't infer the reason for this, but it probably had something to do with the event that was about to take place.
The venue was also the same as the academy back on Earth. The buildings that were made out of bricks and glasses, resemble the infrastructure of Earth. The differences only lay in the runes and some magic accessories, embedded on their walls.
This was indeed the World of Swords and Magic. I couldn't take a grasp of the entire thing that was happening around me. From the flying brooms in the sky to flying horses, and complicated runes and magic. The mystery seemed not to end and was also, my amazement.
Only if Hope would be here as well, she would have enjoyed this moment too!
'System, is there any way to bring people from Earth to this place?'
[Ding!]
[The system currently has no data of that information, however, there's a 90% chance of that being possible, after all, this is the World of Swords and Magic where Magic transcends the impossible]
[The system doesn't suggest doing that without sufficient power. Euphoria boasts not only Magic but also, is rich in danger]
So it's possible!
I couldn't wait for the time when Hope would be here with me too.
As I was immersed in that thought, a teacher in a suit walked toward me.
"Mr. F-rank Student 55, it will be your turn soon. Go back in line!"
It was a middle-aged man, with white beard and black hair. His suit being well neat, paired with his elegant composure. Only if not for his fierce eyes who seemed to judge your entirety with a single look, he would be suited to be an MC of his own story.
I remembered being in line earlier before I decided to leave this place. That might be what he meant.
"Yes, Mr…"
I stopped for a moment as I saw a name floating on top of his head. It spelled "Mr. Augustus", which was probably his name. The name shone with golden light which I was not familiar with.
This got me curious.
I observed my surroundings only to see the students with names started appearing on top of their heads. What surprised me was that most students didn't reflect any names too, instead, descriptions such as "Poor Girl 32", "Alcoholic Boy 33", "F-rank Student 92", and so on were being shown!
These names and descriptions varied in color with black and white being the most common.
I saw no other person with a golden name around me. Speaking of me, I suddenly got curious as to what the color of my name was.
I tilted my head upwards and there I saw a light.
*Throb, throb*
My heart raced for a second as this color most likely suggested something. Probably the fate of the person? I didn't know, but the more bright the color was, the more significant it might be.
So…
I prayed earnestly that I would get at least a golden color!
However… Life had proven itself to have resentment against me.
On top of my head, the description {F-Rank Student 55} shone with light that was darker than coal…
"Ahhz I remembered, I'm only this World's Extra"
