Chapter 29 - Chapter 24 This Gun is Not That Gun_1

Two rocket launcher rounds went off, and the lights inside the house immediately went out.

Frank and John discarded the empty launchers, picked up their rifles, and aimed them at the railing in the direction where the drug dealers might emerge.

"Rubber, breach the door!"

Gao Guang heard Frank's voice through the earpiece and followed closely beside Rubber, feeling clueless and helpless, as he truly didn't know what to do, where to be, whether to set up the rocket launcher, or get ready to shoot.

Rubber, with a rocket launcher slung over his left shoulder and a rifle over his right, pushed Gao Guang and said sternly, "Get over there!"

He pulled something out of his pocket and slapped it against the wall post between the railings, pulled with his left hand against his right, and pushed Gao Guang again, saying, "Move."

Gao Guang felt like an unwelcome burden to everyone.

Rubber crouched beside Gao Guang, raised his gun, aimed at the door, and whispered again, "Get your rocket launcher ready!"

Gao Guang frantically hoisted the rocket launcher onto his shoulder, when suddenly there was a boom, and the wall post connected to the iron railing shattered and fell.

Frank whispered, "Go!"

John was the first to leap over the opened gap in the wall, with Frank closely behind, and just then the house door swung open, and a person clutching a gun charged out.

Rubber fired two shots, and the first person to rush out fell backwards onto the ground, then John and Frank stopped in their tracks, immediately darting to either side.

Rubber shouted fiercely, "Kid, fire!"

Gao Guang hesitated for a moment, then aimed the rocket launcher roughly in the direction of the door, without taking careful aim, and fired.

Barely meeting the minimum firing distance requirement, there was a whoosh, and the rocket shot into the doorway, followed by a massive explosion inside.

He achieved a new milestone in firing a rocket launcher.

The noise-cancelling earpiece worked wonders, making the explosion sound loud but not piercing, without the sensation of deafening, and it didn't affect hearing, yet it didn't completely block external sounds, making footsteps and shouts still clearly audible.

Gao Guang could hear the screams coming from inside, as well as loud yells in Spanish.

The timing of this rocket launcher round was just right.

Frank and Rubber opened fire again, both shooting at people emerging in the garden outside the house, while Bottle Cap took the lead and charged through the enemy's own door after the blast.

Frank followed closely, with John rushing through the door behind him.

Now, Gao Guang and Rubber were left outside.

Gao Guang discarded the empty launcher, picked up a rifle, but then Rubber, gun in hand, tossed an armed rocket launcher at him with his left hand.

Hurriedly catching it, Gao Guang heard Rubber urgently command, "Be ready to fire the rocket launcher at any time!"

Right then, intense gunfire erupted from inside the building, swiftly followed by continuous explosions, and then Frank's urgent voice came over the comms, "Rubber, provide support, Kung Fu kid, cover!"

Rubber picked up his gun and ran, shouting at Gao Guang as he went, "Fire at will, shoot on sight!"

Gao Guang was numb; it was his first time in combat, yet everyone was treating him like a veteran. With that in mind, he thought... might as well.

Rubber also charged in, and then Gao Guang heard John's urgent call through the earpiece, "Grenade, grenade! To the left!"

Gao Guang hadn't heard gunfire like this before, and following John's shout, two more explosions went off, and after a brief moment, a third followed.

There was a brief lull in the gunfire, then Frank urgently said, "Covering fire!"

The gunfire resumed, and soon after, Gao Guang heard John urgently say, "F*ck! Kung Fu kid, get in here now!"

Gao Guang hesitated, then slung the rocket launcher on his back and rushed inside, rifle in hand.

His mind was in a bit of chaos, but Gao Guang wasn't scared. However, he realized that it was pitch black inside only after he ran through the door.

He slipped his night vision goggles down from his helmet, and his view turned to a glowing green, revealing a large living room scattered with several bodies, with Rubber standing, gun in hand, behind a door.

Gao Guang ran up to Rubber, because before the fight, Frank had instructed him to stick with Rubber. But just after taking a few steps, Gao Guang heard John say, "Come to me!"

Gao Guang turned and went to John's side. John pulled two grenades off Gao Guang's chest armor, then whispered harshly, "Go to the other end of the living room, fire the rocket launcher into this room, it's an enclosed space launch model, the distance is also enough, don't be afraid, quick!"

Regular rocket launchers can't be fired in confined spaces without harming the shooter, but there are specific models designed for such spaces, and Gao Guang had one of those on his back.

No one knew the exact situation inside, but it seemed that the tightly shut door couldn't be opened. The rocket launcher on Gao Guang's back was equipped with a dual-purpose armor-piercing and high-explosive warhead; a mere door, even if made of iron, could be blown open with it.

Gao Guang ran back to the farthest corner from the door, estimating a distance well over ten meters, then immediately pressed the firing button.

Using a rocket to assault inside a building was overwhelming; after a loud bang, the door immediately had a hole in it, followed by an explosion within the room.

The shockwave sent dust everywhere, and the tightly shut door was also damaged. John flashed to the door, erupted with a kick, kicked the door open, then threw a grenade inside and quickly retreated behind the door.

Waiting for the grenade to explode, John and Rubber rushed in together, one sliding on his knees, the other swiftly turning sideways; as soon as they entered, they started firing immediately.

After a series of gunshots, John called out loudly, "Clear!"

Now there was complete silence, no gunshots, no explosions, and no more screams after the continuous gunfire.

Frank quickly ordered, "Two-man teams to check all rooms. Find Juan and leave no survivors. Also, narcos' homes usually have a lot of cash. Quick, move!"

Not knowing what he should be doing, Gao Guang nonetheless headed inside upon hearing Frank's instructions.

Behind the door that had been blown open by a rocket, there were seven bodies, and upon turning over a man in a suit, John immediately exclaimed with joy, "Juan! We've found Juan, is this him?"

Finding Juan's body meant the primary objective had been achieved, but Gao Guang had no idea what Juan looked like.

Frank ran over for a look and immediately said, "Matches the description. Take a photo for confirmation. Now quickly search the remaining rooms. We evacuate in two minutes. Move!"

With excitement, John gestured to Gao Guang, "Come with me."

Gao Guang followed behind John, who briskly rushed towards a door with a glass pane in the middle, which Gao Guang guessed was the bathroom.

Although Juan had been killed, John did not let his guard down. Upon reaching the bathroom door, he whispered, "Ready."

Gao Guang aimed his gun at the door, and John slowly grabbed the doorknob. Then he suddenly pushed the door open, the bathroom door swung open with no sign of movement inside, so John quickly entered with a swift sidestep.

After John entered, Gao Guang suddenly heard a gunshot, followed by a loud cry from John, and then a continuous burst of gunfire inside the bathroom.

Gao Guang's mind went blank, and he followed his instincts into the room.

On the floor lay several people, with someone grasping the barrel of John's rifle, and another behind John, striking his head with an object.

By the time Gao Guang locked eyes on them, the assailant was already bringing down the object for the third strike.

Instinctively, Gao Guang jabbed his gun forward, the barrel hitting the nose of the person wielding the club. He then drew back the rifle and, with a loud roar, thrust it forward again, this time directly into the attacker's throat.

Gao Guang turned his rifled—sans bayonet—into a weapon akin to the spear he had practiced with for over a decade. In a critical situation, it wasn't easy to change such ingrained habits.

Using the rifle to take down an enemy didn't slow Gao Guang down much. Then he spun and kicked, hitting the assailant who was struggling with John on the side.

The enemy grunted, his body shook, but he didn't fall or let go of John's gun. With a shout, Gao Guang thrust his rifle again, this time aiming for the enemy's head.

In a flash, John let go of his rifle, drew his handgun from his leg holster, and fired a shot directly at the head of the persistent attacker.

The enemy fell at the sound, and John turned with his handgun, aiming at the man Gao Guang had struck down, then exclaimed in surprise, "Ha, and you said you don't know Kung Fu!"

The enemy who had been stabbed in the throat with a rifle was rolling in pain, his windpipe shattered and unable to breathe, blood frothing continuously from his mouth.

After shooting the rolling enemy dead, John asked again, "Why didn't you shoot?"

Gao Guang felt extremely ashamed—he was holding a gun and could have resolved the situation with a pull of the trigger, but instead, he used the rifle as if it were a spear, which was mortifying for him.

"I, I..."

"Is it because you're more comfortable with Kung Fu? But you're a bit lacking in strength," John quipped.

Only John would still be in the mood to discuss Kung Fu at such a time. Gao Guang was incredibly tense, fearing more enemies might emerge, so he quickly advanced with his gun raised and soon encountered three more people.

"There's someone! Hey, it's... it's Arturo!"

Three people were lying on the bathroom floor. Gao Guang couldn't see clearly from his night vision goggles, but after a moment's inspection, he was shocked to discover one of them was Arturo.

John, unimpressed, said, "That's them. Okay, check the other rooms."

"Don't go, save me, please save me..."

The voice didn't belong to Arturo, who had been kidnapped twice but was a stranger looking extremely weak, covered in blood, and struggling to lift his head, speaking to Gao Guang, "Save me, I can give you a lot of money!"
