Chapter 1 - Lucifer The Big Snake

A man dressed in black casually stood at the top of the stairs, staring coldly at her. The man walks down.

"You...." Yena was stunned. She only saw clearly the creature's appearance now. Except for his trademark glowing reptile eyes, he was the same as a normal human, and more so.

"If you are not afraid to die, just go." He added.

"Isn't it the same? Either in your hands or his hands, I will still die?" Yena backed away slightly as Lucifer approached.

"Depends. If you give me my Yeouiju, then I will set you free."

Yena swallowed her spittle. Did he mean the pottery?

"Give back my Yeouiju then I will consider your life," said Lucifer.

Yena stutters. If she told that his yeouiju had been destroyed, Lucifer would have killed her straight away.

"Th-that's... fine. I'll give it back to you. That Yeouiju is at my place. Let's take it..." Yena said, lying.

After getting out of this place she will ask help people to escape from this creature.

"We're not leaving now. That rotten dragon is still lurking out there." Lucifer said as he turned inside.

"O-oh, so when are we going?" Yena came back in hesitantly.

Lucifer didn't answer, he just kept going upstairs.

Yena didn't know what to do so she just followed Lucifer to the room earlier. It seemed like it was the only livable room in the building.

Yena sat awkwardly on the edge of the bed while Lucifer sat casually on the chair reading the thick book in his hands.

Yena noticed his side profile which looked charming. South Korea does have amazing visuals, even their mythological creatures are this good.

"That... may I know where exactly this is?" Yena asked quietly.

Seeing Lucifer budge she asked again.

"When are we going? Wouldn't it be better if you took your Yeouiju immediately? I'm afraid my friend will throw it away...."

" ... "

Lucifer only focused on his book.

Yena smiled wryly.

"I forgot that snakes don't have ears." She thought.

Lucifer was still wrestling his book with a serious face. However, his focus was instantly dispersed when he heard the typical crackling sound of an empty stomach.

He looked up sharply.

She smiled awkwardly.

"S-sorry.I'm hungry..., do you have some food?" Yena asked hesitantly, but Lucifer didn't care and refocused.

She smiled blandly.

'Never mind Yena, he didn't kill you right away, that's good enough. Do not expect more.'

'I'd better go to sleep.' Yena lay down her body that felt weak. It was only then that she realized that her stomach was rumbling. Don't know how long she had been unconscious.

To ignore the hunger, the girl forced herself to sleep again.

'Mother... I want to go home. if I had followed what you said, then I wouldn't be stuck here right now.'

Meanwhile in Indonesia, Yena's only family, the mother, has heard the news that her daughter is missing.

The woman is currently lying helpless in the hospital after receiving the bad news.

"Auntie, don't worry anymore. If there's no news from Yena by tonight, then I'll fly straight to Seoul tomorrow." A man the same age as Yena said to calm her down.

"Ansel, please find Yena. It's been two days. Don't know if she's okay or not. That stupid kid..., he should have listened to me not to go," said Mila, worried and annoyed.

"Don't think anymore. Yena and I have been together since childhood. I will take her home. Auntie calms down." Ansel reassured.

No matter how hard Yena tried to ignore her hunger, she couldn't sleep any longer.

After a long day of sleeping, she finally woke up at night.

"It's over..looks like I'm going to starve to death." Yena grimaced, clutching her tummy which felt twisted.

She wanted to give up, but when her gaze swept across the nightstand her pupils immediately widened.

"Is it yogurt?" Yena hurriedly got out of bed and approached a pile of things that turned out to be packaged food and drinks.

"I'm safe!" he cried with sparkling eyes. He opened a bottle of yogurt and gulped it down.

"Pineapple bread? Honey? Heaven is helping me!" Yena ate a large piece of her favorite bread like a hungry person.

The girl pulled up a chair, sat down, and ate heartily.

In a short time, he almost finished all the food.

"Shhh...." Lucifer's hiss startled him.

Yena put down the last piece and scowled in fear at the sight of the legless dragon creeping in. Especially after realizing that she had finished almost all the food.

Though that's not necessarily the case for her.

"S-sorry... I was hungry so I went straight...." Yena was nervous. however, seeing Lucifer only glanced at her and immediately curled up lazily on the floor, Yena breathed a sigh of relief. Looks like it was for her.

"Thank you," said Yena. She felt that this reptile was not so bad.

"Eh?" Yena suddenly frowned as her eyes caught what looked like a burn on the snake's tail.

Yena was horrified. How could he get hurt? It must be hurt.

The girl without thinking immediately approached the big reptile.

He crouched down and examined the wound.

"How do snakes heal themselves? Do you have antibiotics or antiseptics? I will help you treat them." Yena said.

Lucifer only opened his eyes briefly and then closed them again.

"If this is not handled immediately, it can become an infection," added Yena.

"Oh yes ...." The girl suddenly remembered something. He rushed to take the remaining bottle of honey. He once read in a journal that honey contains anti-inflammatory and antibiotic properties, which can be used for minor burns.

Yena gently applied the honey to Lucifer's burn.

"Shh...." lucifer wakes up and hisses toward Yena.

"O-oh calm down ..., I'm treating you. Honey will prevent your wound from being irritated." Yena explained.

Lucifer snorted softly then curled up again.

Yena was relieved, He was quite tame.

"Hope this helps, though I don't know if it will work on snakeskin or not--"

"I'm not a snake." Lucifer interrupted.

"Oh? So what are you? Imoogi?"

"..."

"Wow, so you're an Imoogi? But how can Korean mythological creatures speak Indonesian?" Yena is surprised.

Lucifer flinched.

"Never mind. It's over. The wound is not serious. It will heal soon." Yena said as she got up and went back to bed.

"Why did you get hurt?" Yena asked curiously. "Could it be... the dragon attacked you while you were out earlier?" guessed it.

Lucifer opened his eyes and hissed softly, glaring at Yena sharply.

"Do you need help keeping your mouth shut?"

"O-- no!" Yena immediately jumped onto the bed and curled up. He touched his sore neck. Why is this snake so fierce?

'That's enough. Just sleep.' Even though Yena just woke up, her full stomach made her sleepy again.

Other than that, there was nothing else she could do except sleep.

The next day when Yena woke up again, she found a pile of food on the nightstand.

This time there was a plate of bulgogi and kimchi.

oh, this Imoogi is so good!

Yena immediately devoured the steaming bulgogi meat.

"He has gone?" Yena didn't see Lucifer there. After she finished eating she went downstairs, the big snake was also not there. It seemed he was leaving.

Yena found that the exit door was also unlocked, but she had no intention of running away now, afraid of meeting Arion. After all, Lucifer didn't treat her badly.

Yena returned to the room. Feeling bored she read Lucifer's book.

"Korean-Indonesian Dictionary?"
