Nelphy looked at the blue staff in a new light. "... I hadn't thought about it that deeply."
"And that's fine. What else are elders for?" jested Bil. "Why else would I always carry my walking stick?"
As the cloth-wrapped stick appeared in Bil's hand, Zac was taken aback and confused.
"Bil…" Suddenly, nerves clenched Nelphy's vocal cords.
"Yes?"
"... Why do you always wrap it up?"
"Because this way it's more comfortable in my hand." Storing the walking stick and turning toward the restaurant's back door, Bil asked, "Who's hungry? The roast boar should be ready by now."
Zac walked behind Bil but paused and waited for Nelphy. He and she both knew Bil wouldn't just wrap any old walking stick. But they had no reason to dig further, and it wouldn't affect them either way. So the duo quietly followed and ended up at the bar with an amazing spread laid out before them.
"Here's some sweeta, since you both like it."
