"When I need you?" Jash grumbled, swallowing his food. "I'll be fine thanks to the house. My earnings should be enough to get by."
Nodding, Bil poured them both some juice. "I'm glad you're thinking responsibly."
"Besides," Jash continued, "if you're in hiding, we don't want you entering the city."
"Oh? You're more aware than you let on."
"Of course I am!" Jash boasted. "Nelphy's not the only smart one!"
Bil sipped his juice and sighed in relief. "I'm glad you understand. Then, do I need to ask you to not mention me living here?"
Shaking his head, Jash pounded his chest as he struggled to swallow. He drank some juice to soothe his throat. "Uh… I won't mention you. In the eyes of the city… it'll just be me and my sister moving to Frantoch to finally start our lives. We grew up adopted but our guardian passed on just before we came of age… That's why we're looking for a fresh start."
