To Bil's surprise, Jash was patiently waiting for him and Nelphy to end their moment together, apart from Jash's tapping foot and annoyed glare. Bil pat Nelphy's head once more before deactivating and reactivating the seal stone, covering him and Jash in the strange energy.
"What is that?!" Jash shouted and pointed at the oval trinket.
"It's a seal stone. There are many kinds, each able to seal or contain specific elements. This one is the most common sort. It seals the immediate area of sound. You already experienced being on the outside so now you get to be on the inside," explained Bil. "If you live the life of a soldier then you'll use these quite often."
Nodding, Jash felt a bit better. "So, Nelphy can't hear us right now? … I was the one that ate your duck jerky! …"
"See," laughed Bil. "So… Is there anything you'd like to ask me now that it's just us?"
