Business was still going on in the main roads of the Market District, but the night market was less about quantity and more about quality of goods. So Jash had no problem making his way home in the mostly empty streets.
When Jash entered the house, he was surprised to see the light on in the kitchen. Jash walked in to find a dome covering some sort of food with a note leaning on the cover.
"Hey Bro,
"I've got work early, so I'm off to bed. Thanks for your help today! You did an amazing job, and this is the least I can do to thank you. I hope your first job went well, and I look forward to hearing all about it when we get the chance to chat."
Pulling up the dome, Jash sighed and drooled a little. The aroma of fried cockatrice filled the kitchen. It wasn't hot, but it was still crispy. And next to the fried cockatrice leg was a mound of mashed potatoes with gravy.
