Drinks and food were passed around as the morning was drawn out. But the kitchen was soon closed. And the bar didn't take much longer to shut down after that.
As the sun was climbing toward its peak, relaxation was finally available for the people keeping guard immediately after the battle.
The rest of the city was feeling a subtle calm overtaking it. Some street vendors offered sales to celebrate the city's victory. Plenty of restaurants slashed prices in honor of the city's newfound peace. Finally, after days of silent worry, the streets were beginning to fill up. And the citizens were feeling comfortable enough to start going about their usual lives.
Noon rolled by with the city opening up more and more every hour.
