Nelphy fumbled her gaze slightly, asking, "... What if I kill a high angel?"
"That's not considered protecting yourself, not compared to any real threat."
Seeing Bil's deadpan expression paired with that statement, Nelphy was forced to review her perspective of strength. "... And you promise to explain EVERYTHING?"
"Everything," Bil agreed with a nod.
"Deal!"
They quickly shook hands and got back to prepping dinner. Nelphy became strangely excited as she cut and gutted lizards at a lively pace.
That night, Nelphy thought she would sleep easier after getting such a promise from Bil. But, in actuality, it took her even longer to drift into her dreams due to her newfound anticipation.
