Nodding, Hathon dropped the traumatic aura of the last subject but kept his solemn gaze. "That part of the play's pretty accurate. Their caravan was targeted by assassins near the Frihet-Briston border. But it wasn't one god. There were multiple deities under those masks. To think, gods and devils worked together, and wore cowardly masks, all to kill one man and his wife. And none of them escaped with their lives.
"Sadly, they did end up poisoning the conqueror and the empress…" Hathon sighed. "But the play was wrong about the people in the room. No one was allowed in the palace. Not even medics."
"Not medics? But how–"
