Chapter 30 - The room

I rushed home and went to my special room. It had soo devices and some weapons, guns even. Given my large social network, this much was nothing. I just kept them because I like them though. I never used them. They were kind of ornaments. Gifts.

I took a special bath that could erase all traces of dirt. That included blood. I had extra clothes ready so I burned the ones I came with. Then I went to check the surveillance of the loons I left behind. They were still on the street side. They could die for all I care. I would just need to erase all the info that led back to me, and I did.

I went out to check on the sleepyhead on my sofa. Too much on getting rid of this feeling. I just wanted to kiss him while he was asleep. He would spend the entire summer with me, so, here we are. It all came to; if I had enough self control not to pounce him.

But the night went just fine and I got to sleep easier because I was tired.

The next morning was shocking. I was in his arms, hugged tightly and my face buried in his chest. Our legs were somewhat tangled. This was insane. How should I react?

I struggled to leave without being noticed but to no avail. This was a situation I didn't picture in my mind well.

With my genius mind I was too flustered to think of anything. I really shot myself in the foot. I too, realized that. I wanted to scream.

Make things worse I looked up to find two very intense eyes boring holes in me. I froze for a while. His cold green eyes stared at me expressionlessly and I panicked. I pushed him off with all the strength I could master and ended up throwing him off the bed.

"Darn it man, why push me off like that?" He said as he got up. I could sense some irritation from this voice. But his expression looked like he was an abandoned puppy on the street.

"..Don't look at me like that. I was just…uh...surprised. You were supposed to wake up early to open the door."

"And I did. Was I supposed to supervise them as well?" He argued back.

"I suppose not. Well. I-sorry." I pushed the word out.

"Okay." I guess it wasn't easy to get his forgiveness but it was fine. I apologized.

We both got ready with a shower and brushing our teeth. Then headed to the kitchen. The workers were conveniently done. I was happy with that. I mean you don't get these good connections easily but they were reliable and fast. Convenient. A word I love and apply in life .

"Are you done?"

"We are done. Boss. We will be heading out now. Phone us if there are any needed changes. Hope you have a nice day, Boss." They slightly bowed and nodded at Caleb. They left.

"You are a boss now?" He said in a teasing tone. I hated his sense of humor but loved him all the same.

"Yeah. I am a superior to their boss so I am technically their boss. I invested in the place."

"Cool. Good to have you as a friend rather than a boss. Hahaha." He said, somewhat proud of his very newly found special position.

"Lets have breakfast and decide on what to do today. Kay." I said.

"Good with me. I will make a simple breakfast so help me set the table?" I guess he wanted help this time.

"Sure." I responded.

We had a 'simple' breakfast. His sense of simplicity broke logic. But surely, he was done with preparation within 10 minutes. A toast with egg and bacon. Some veggies. Cut fruits at the side. Tea and coffee on another side.

My side is simple: bread with peanut butter and jelly.
