Chapter 196 - Ch 211: Jack's Handle on Stress

Stressed out, Jack flew himself onto the high roof of a business building in the city. He cleared his mind from Sharlene's slap and called a mental echolocation, through his head, and sent it to his lost eighteen-year-old offspring, who still has yet to find him.

"Come to me," he echoed the signal over and over again. Then he waited for a reply but got nothing.

"Where are you?" Jack voiced out in his heart-sickened gut. He'd hate to think his son had been detained, so he only hoped Kai's theory was right about him getting a gift to block out his scent. Between Sharlene's bizarre behavior and his missing son. Jack was lost on what to do with himself.

Mentally, he needed a break for a breather from everything that took place. Thus, is why he started to date again to keep busy.

The day he met Molly a few weeks ago at this club, his mind felt clearer than ever since they started dating. It was nothing serious between them, so Jack didn't see anything wrong with dating her. Being a vampire, nothing could ever be serious between them, mainly when this wasn't love.

Overall, Molly was amazing at keeping his mind occupied. And wow! She knew how to kiss for being a human, Jack inwardly thought. That's another reason why he couldn't get enough of her lips last night. So he stayed over but they did nothing more than make out for hours on end.

Then coming back home sure came with a slap in the face. Jack honestly couldn't understand why Sharlene was being this way toward him. Since she was being so distant, he didn't think she'd care. If she has a problem with him dating, then only for her, he'd give up any female in a second.

But the way Sharlene kept pushing him away and didn't want his help to support her with the pregnancy. He decided to carry on with his life and wait for Sharlene to come to him once she was ready. Plus, she told him to date whoever, so he couldn't understand why she'd say go date, and then slap him later for it. Ivan was surely right, females were complicated, Jack reckoned.

Reflecting on everything, Jack took a long sigh. Then he took off like a shadiness to find Kai.

Although it was odd that he couldn't find him. Jack checked the garden below his bedroom but Kai wasn't there. Nor was he on the roof above it. Next, Jack checked the forest and still couldn't find Kai in any of his usual spots.

So his apparition flew to the mansion and touched on an outdoor sundeck where Ivan and Ace were chatting together at.

"Have you guys seen Kai?" He asked them directly.

Ivan replied from the chair he sat in. "Nope, we haven't even smelled his scent. I doubt, he's on this planet."

"Why would he leave through a gateway without us?" Jack questions.

Next to Ivan's chair, Ace shrugged his shoulders and answered, after taking a drink from his glass of blood. "Chester and his friends are missing too. Likely, Kai left with them."

"Wonder why he did that," Jack pondered outwardly to them.

Ace replies, "I think it's because of what he did to Victoria yesterday night."

"What did he do now?" Jack asked, not surprised to hear as they filled him in about Orlando.

Jack shook his head. "And I thought I had it bad with Sharlene," he chuckled. "Well, since Kai's gone, I'll be at Molly's apartment."

"Beware of Sharlene," Ivan teased and Jack chuckled before he took off. First, he fed well and fully. Then he returned to the mansion and got in his car and drove to Molly's apartment.

He knocked a few times before she answered.

"Jack!" She said, excitedly.

Then he greedily snatched her lips. Using his shoe, he shut the door behind him. Then he picked her up and laid her on the couch. For hours, he kept kissing her to no end until dinner. All to clear his stress.

"Are you sure you don't want anything to eat?" Molly asked him and thought it was so strange that she never saw him eat.

"I ate a huge lunch," Jack replied, which wasn't a total lie. After she ate, they cuddled and watched movies and made out until she passed out.

Sunday morning, Jack kissed Molly goodbye and then drove home. Upon his arrival, the mansion was more packed than usual. He heard tons of laughter coming from the indoor pool. So he peeked in and found it was a huge pool party.

After he dressed in his trunks, he joined in on the fun and relaxed on this lounge chair near his friends. On the opposite side of the pool, he saw Victoria crying. Still, he didn't see Kai anywhere.

"Hasn't Kai returned?" Jack asked their group.

Aside from his lounge chair, Glenn replied. "Nope, he hasn't returned, and neither has Chester and his friends."

"He must be pretty guilty," Jack said, watching Victoria getting comfort from the vampiresses.

At an angled round table, Ace said. "Well, Kai thinks if he breaks Victoria's heart with Orlando, then she'll fall madly in love with him. But he doesn't realize she's human. It's not how it works for a human. Kai doesn't realize, she won't feel that full mate connection until she's a vampiress."

"Clearly," Jack stated as this beauty climbed up the pool ladder toward them. On Jack's lawn chair, she took a towel and then sat down by his bent knee.

"What are you vampires doing?" Sharlene's cousin named Leah asked.

"Just checking out all the hotties swimming," Rome replied at the table where Ace sat.

Leah giggled, "I don't doubt that one, Rome."

She then looked at Jack and got herself all cozy with him. She kissed his lips, and he melted right for her.

"You smell and taste like a human," Leah said, flirting with her lips still brushing on him.

Jack ignored her comment and pushed her hot lips on his. He got lost in her sweetest. Their friends continued talking around them but he paid no attention, and neither did they. Leah's lips eased his mind and diminished his stress about Sharlene carrying his offspring. He was lost in an ecstasy of bliss.

"Sharlene!" Until he heard his friends shout vociferously.
