Chapter 87 - Ch 102: Soulmate

I woke up in a hot sweat and out of breath from having multiple nightmares. Each dream was about Kai being this satanic vampire. In the dreams, he killed that trashy woman he kissed in front of me at the club. He even killed a few women the night we got married. Then in the last dream, I saw he killed Tracy. My mind was frazzled by how one dream happened after another.

I sat up, holding the blanket to my naked chest, and looked everywhere to discover Kai wasn't anywhere. I got dressed in my silky lingerie short-length gown. Then I put on a silkie short-length black robe over me. I stepped out of the bedroom and heard the tv playing. The large screen tv brightened up the dark room and I saw Kai sitting there on the middle cushion.

"Kai?" I went around the couch.

"Hey, Victoria..." I jumped back surprised to see Jack was sitting there. "Relax, it's just me." He sent me a friendly smile.

I took a seat at the end of the couch and said. "Sorry, you just startled me. I wasn't expecting to find you here."

"Do you need something?" Jack semi-chuckled and asked while he texted Kai to say Victoria was awake.

"No, I just couldn't sleep," I replied as I noticed he was texting someone on his phone. "Do you know where Kai went?"

"Yeah, he went to grab a whiskey with Rome at the bar," Jack answered and put his phone screen face down on his lap. He was acting a little suspicious. And I wasn't sure why.

"I guess I'll go meet him down there," I said and I was about to stand but Jack reached for my arm.

"No, he's coming back up," Jack quickly said and made me sit back down. Now I was getting more suspicious of his unusual behavior. But before I could ask anything, Kai came inside. I wasn't speculating he'd return so fast. Honestly, I was beginning to think he might have been with Tracy.

Kai looked at me smiling, "You're up so late."

I got up from the couch and said, "I couldn't sleep anymore."

Kai pulled me into his arms and within that instant, I smelled blood mixed with a feminine perfume.

"Why do you smell like..." I stopped myself from asking him why he smells like blood and a woman's perfume.

He'll likely lie if he snuck off to see Tracy. It's not like I love him so it's best not to ask questions if he's sneaking around with other women.

Although he best hope I never catch him or else, I will leave him. First I need to get my life back in order. I can't even prove I'm a US citizen. Until Kai gives me back my proof of identification.

Kai randomly elucidated like he read my mind. "If you're wondering why I stink like women's perfume and blood. It's because there were a few women that smelled like they dumped a perfume bottle on their heads. Then a fight broke out with a couple of drunks. Rome and I were helping to clean up the blood."

Sufficiently, that was pretty dead on to answer my questions. His explanation was likely the truth since I saw his eyes looked honest.

"I guess that clarifies it," I said in bafflement since I didn't know what else to say.

"Did you wanna go down to the bar?" Kai asked. "They're probably still cleaning up the mess."

"Let me get dressed," I said, taking him up on that offer. I figured I'll challenge him and see if he was telling the truth or not. Not that I cared, but it's always good to know when somebody is lying.

Once I was ready Jack, Kai, Rome, and I went to the bar. Just as Kai claimed they were still cleaning the blood on the floor. And that same perfume reeked strongly in the air.

Altogether, we sat at the bar and chatted until the sunrise came. Only Kai and I walked barefoot along the beach as the sun rose.

"It's so beautiful," I said as Kai took me into his arms from behind.

"It's nowhere as beautiful as you, my love," Kai whispered into my ear before he kissed my temple softly.

His sweet words melted my heart. I couldn't stop myself from facing him. Like the gentle waves washing up into our ankles. My mouth smoothly latched onto his lips.

Together in an easy flow, our lips latched on and off, as we continued to kiss on the beach while the sun rose to its peak.

I couldn't lie to feeling this undeniable magnetic pull between us. As our lips proceeded to soar into this romance stirring around us. The way my heart sang it felt as if Kai was my missing soulmate.

Slowly, I pulled away to think it was strange to feel something so powerful. Powerful enough to even feel like Kai is my soulmate.

'That is some pretty bizarre thinking there, Victoria.'

Surely I must be losing my sanity from Kai's killer looks. This isn't love. It's only lust and possessiveness. Surely Kai can woo any lady and it's shameful to think that he can woo me too.

Once the sunrise was over, we walked back inside after we got our shoes on.

"Has anyone seen Tracy?" I heard a lady ask a group of workers as we were passing the back lobby desk.

"I haven't seen her since last night," another lady responded.

"Oh, didn't the manager tell you?" asked a man behind the desk.

"Tell us what?" One of the ladies asked him.

"Tracy just left and walked off the job," claimed the man. "The manager said she packed up her belongings."

Everyone was shocked as I was trying to eavesdrop while Kai dragged me away.

"That doesn't make sense," a lady argued "She wouldn't do that! I think something had to happen because she won't answer my call."

Now I was shocked to hear this because she looked so worried about Tracy's whereabouts. And people go missing all the time so maybe something did happen to her.

Just when I was thinking this I saw the manager up ahead. Kai and he made eye contact and I swear to see a small head motion like they were stealthy communicating.

"Enough of this!" I overheard the manager's stern voice behind us. "This talk is unprofessional! I don't wanna hear another word about Tracy! Now everyone, back to work!"

"Yes, sir, right away!" I overheard multiple voices say. Then I heard nothing else because Kai pulled me into the elevator for us to change so we could go sightseeing.
