"Well it was reported to be just an accident"
Aria told Claude who had stayed at the premises after the incident, the class was shaken and she told them to go home early since some of them were still not ready for a battlefield.
"Was it?"
"If it happens only once under my eyes then I can say it was just an accident besides this wasn't the first time it happened, it only occurs two or three times a year and maybe we were the lucky ones to experience it this year."
"Then I don't need to worry."
"You don't, I'll be the one that'll start to worry if it happens a second time even if its not under my jurisdiction."
"I guess someone here is taking their job seriously."
"Of course If I didn't this place would be wreck and well I'd be forced to fight a stupid war."
"That's not my problem anymore, see you later Professor Aria."
Claude left immediately, Aria looked into his direction and shook her head as she believed elves were peace loving people but the more she thought about Claude the more she believed Claude wasn't a typical elf.
She then looked at the guards who were collecting stones left on the ground and would give the Aerin, Claude and Arthur their profits later on.
"Alright do it faster before I cut off your bonuses!"
"Yes Ma'am!"
Aria then heard a faint sound and looked at the direction where Claude had gone.
"Must have tripped."
-
I immediately transformed my body into its shadow form and blended in with the environment, I was running a risk as Aria looked at where I was but didn't notice me immediately.
"It should be just up ahead"
I was after a huge stone that would be needed in the future, it was an ingredient that would be dropped by the Goblin Giant, there should be two Goblin Giants but one only appeared and I was worried.
After I was sure I could sense no one was I returned to my original form, my actual body.
"It still feels weird."
As soon as I formed my body as I soon heard a deafening roar in front of me, before I could react I was slammed to the side.
"What the hell."
It hurt I'm not gonna lie but as soon as I saw what hit me It wasn't a Goblin Giant but a Goblin King, these things were like regular sized humans but were faster and stronger, that wasn't a problem for me but the thing was there was something glowing on its head.
"Damn it"
After I regained my balance the monster immediately lunged onto but I managed to dodge its strike, right now the thing on it's is powering him to an incredulous amount that it managed to hurt me.
I immediately summoned 'Dawn' and covered myself with lightning and thrusted my spear toward him as he was lunging. The green rat was fast and I didn't how fast he was but right now I just had to let loose and try to kill him.
-
"What was that?"
Aria heard the roar as she looked at the direction up ahead, somehow she felt uneasy.
"Go back and block the entrance while I move up ahead perhaps a second wave is coming even if its the first block we might need to seal this thing, we were the only ones that entered right?"
"Yes and Yes Ma'am!"
"Good I need to confirm it."
Aria then went ahead leaving the soldiers behind, right now she was thrilled that wasn't just any roar, that was a roar of an enraged monster or a monster corrupted with a crystals power.
Crystals in the continent of Orbis were essential resources that could be traded, mined and used in everyday life, it was the equivalent of electricity in the modern world, it powered not only houses but the Human's weapons and even Mages.
But on the other hand there were various crystals, there was the golden crystal called 'Chrysus' which symbolized status, it was nothing more than a decoration crystal used by nobles etched into their robes, rings and crowns.
'Coerulus' the blue crystal used in powering the nations such as the Human and Dwarven territory, Mana surged through it but it was too minimal for mages and weapons, mages tinkered with it until they found usage for it, it wasn't enough to be used in battle but it was enough to power houses, lights and even tools.
'Potentia' was the most dangerous crystal of them all, mages and the army use these in battle, on how it differed for every race with the common denominator that it powered up anyone depending on how big the stone was.
"Oh"
Aria had arrived after minutes of running, she immediately stood where she was as she watched someone familiar to her fight an empowered Goblin King, she thought to herself if she should help or watch the show.
"Come on Claude give me a good show."
She would rather watch this sight than ruin it for Claude who looked like he was struggling, it was apparent that he wasn't used to monsters or beings faster than him and as she looked at the crystal etched into its head it only amplified the being's speed.
She just laughed as she saw Claude getting manhandled being slammed into corners and some blood leaking out from his mouth, but the more she looked at the more she noticed how fast he was regenerating, the bruises he earned would instantly be gone after a few seconds.
"Elves huh, alright enough of this crappy show."
Aria then ran forward, and as she ran forward flames erupted with every step as her legs were covered with it.
"Empress Strike!"
She was even faster than the Goblin King as she striked its head crushing it in a matter of few seconds, as soon as she landed the crystal on its head dropped, she took it and looked at it, she shrugged her shoulder and threw it to Claude who was panting.
"Am I in trouble?"
"No, you gave me a good show so I won't report it, I'll tell you what the Goblin King wasn't special by any means but because he had Potentia which unlocked his true potential you fought what we call a special existence it was on A+ Rank in terms of strength and if it was left alone for who knows how many days it could have ranked up to S+."
"You're not gonna ask me how I'm here?"
"Everyone has secrets Claude so no"
Claude nodded and hid the crystal on his pocket, he then followed after Aria who was waiting for him, together they left the dungeon before looking around one last time to ensure that there were no more dangers being hidden.
-
Arthur who was outside of the dungeon's entrance with guards blocking him was trying hard to convince them there were monsters not killed yet, his system had told him that the quest wasn't still cleared and that there was one remaining.
"Please! I need to inform Professor Aria!"
"Hold on Kid, if there's a monster that's still there Professor Aria would have finished killing it already!"
"I nee-"
As soon as he was about to say something he coughed up blood, he then heard a prompt that he had failed the quest, the quest stated that he had to help kill the boss but he didn't, it meant that Professor Aria had finished killing it without him.
He didn't know how to feel as although he didn't lose any stats but he earned a penalty, the penalty was he would feel the effects of the battle earlier against the monsters above his rank after being immune to the damage they had dealt to him earlier.
"What happened to him?"
Aria and Claude arrived at the entrance, when they came out they saw Arthur coughing out blood.
"Well are any of you going to help a student?"
"Yes Ma'am!"
"Heal him and take him to the infirmary while we go report to the headmaster."
"Yes Ma'am"
"Do I need to come?"
Aria looked at Claude, she then shook her head.
"It's better I go alone this time, as much as I want to boast about you its not the time to release the news."
"Thank you."
Claude immediately left and ran towards the gates to go back home, Aria sighed and shook her head once more.
"Damn it more paperwork."
