Chapter 21 - Got

"Why must I suffer for being engaged with an idiot."

Lucille then looked at the book that she was holding, it wasn't the same one as she remembered the title engraved in her mind.

She had good memory and this one wasn't the book she didn't know how it got switched up but she was certain.

"Was it Claude? No, he didn't have a book in his hand when we bumped? I'll check it out later."

Right now she was alone in her room reading books to pass the time, her father had already gotten wind of it and went to visit Vince's family to ask if that was what they wanted.

She then heard a knock on her door as she drank the tea prepared for her.

"Come in."

Shortly she saw her own brother smiling holding another box, she knew what it contained and she smiled brightly.

"How have you been? I heard the rumours."

"I'm doing fine."

"That's good, here it's for you."

"Thank you."

"Actually, I have a small favour to ask."

"What is it?"

"You know who Claude is right?"

As soon as Claude's name came out of his mouth she instantly turned red as she remembered what happened a few hours ago.

Her brother wasn't dense nor stupid, he had a lover so he instantly knew something had happened.

"Oh, are the rumours not completely false?"

"What do you mean"

"Judging from your reaction something must have happen for you to react like that way."

"We just bumped into each other."

"Just bumping? Well If Elves suit your taste I don't care as long as you're happy."

"No!"

"Save the excuses I'm out, and just a heads up father won't care if you and only you marry Claude."

"Why?"

"He's rich."

Paul didn't say anything as he left the small box in the table in her room. Lucille didn't know what to say after her brothers remarks but she just rolled her eyes.

-

It was the day after the opening ceremony, Claude arrived with the rest of his group, he slept late last night since he was interrogated by the three women beside him.

But that wasn't important right now nor for him.

"He's done it!"

Claude smiled as soon as he the scene in front of him, it was only at the entrance but everyone saw how Elludin challenged Arthur.

Right now a crowd had gathered and circled the two, not missing a beat the group moved forward to see the show upfront.

They were only a few steps away so they could hear everything.

"Apparently he's been camping that spot since early morning."

Tywin told everyone as they looked at the fiasco happening, Aerin who caught Claude's smile earlier dragged his ear.

"Did you do something?"

"You know how easy he can get jealous so I said some words here and there and now you have this situation."

"Who do you think will win?"

"Arthur, but don't worry the more Elludin will be embarrassed the higher the chance your father will have a probable cause of terminating your engagement."

Though their voices were soft and were whispering Mistoira and Diene heard everything, they already knew the situation so they also wanted to see how this drama unfolds.

"A bet?"

"Yes!"

Right now everyone was looking at the scene in front of them, Elludin was sizing up Arthur, the two were inches away.

"Hey Tywin."

Claude called for Tywin who immediately came, he looked at Claude and when he arrived in front of him.

"I'm sorry."

Claude immediately pushed Tywin in front causing him to bump into Elludin's back.

"Bastard!"

Tywin fell down to his bottoms as Claude pushed him too hard but he was surprised when girls shrieked and Boys were gasping.

He looked behind to see both Elludin and Arthur were in shock, He Immediately stood up and went to Claude to punch his shoulder to which Claude just laughed.

"I didn't see anything what happened?"

Tywin asked Claude as he left with the girls while the crowd was slowly dispersing and murmuring.

"You'll hear it soon enough."

-

"I didn't know you swung that way Arthur."

Vince who just arrived told Arthur who was sulking as he sat down, nobody told him since everyone was afraid to piss him off.

"Shut it."

"So did you accept his challenge?"

"I had to."

"That sounds sad."

Arthur didn't say anything else as the rumours had began circulating already about his sexual orientation.

It wasn't a big deal but many were surprised and that he was mad nobody verified it but instead stories sprouted along the campus tarnishing his image a bit.

"Everyone sit!"

Aria who had arrived immediately quelled down the chatter as everyone did what they were told.

"It's only been two days Arthur yet you've gained quite a name."

"It wasn't true!"

"I know Elves are known for their beauty but really? I expected more from you, not that I'm judging I'm just disappointed."

"Professor!"

"I know we won't discuss your sexuality but I wonder what your parents would say."

Arthur immediately shut up as soon the topic of his parents came up, he then noticed that something was amiss, did his teacher know something about then or was it just a comment?

"Anyhow today we're going to talk about dungeons, before we start does anyone know about dungeons?"

No one raised their hands as they looked at her.

"Good because I don't even know."

Everyone didn't know what to say after her words but then.

"It's because a dungeon is too complex, for now there are four types of dungeons, one is what the academy has and various kingdoms have, a training ground, where known monsters spawn in intervals with no end, this type of dungeon won't close and would need to be cleansed every once in a while."

"Secondly the one where you go in and clear the dungeon with your teammates and come back after beating the guardian of the dungeon."

"Thirdly dungeons where there are treasures, though these types of dungeons are rarely inhabited by monsters there have been cases where there were no monsters and instead people walked out with treasures."

"Lastly, well it has only been reported twice but still there are dungeons with unknown beings whose powers we cannot fathom and you just have to pray you'll live to tell the tale, so anyone have questions?"

Aria looked at the class and found no one said anything she then clapped her hands once.

"Good because we're going to clear an area of a dungeon, well mostly it will be me with you guys standing behind me."

-

"This is certainly a first time."

I looked at the surroundings, right now it looked like what I thought it would be, a tunnel with no sunlight and where paths would intersect everyone looked excited but I knew this was the first time an incident would occur.

The academy weren't stupid as there were tons of guard every few meters or so, I wonder how much they're paid to deal with this? Perhaps certainly not much since they're all around C to D ranked people based on their Aura's

"What are you doing?"

Professor Aria walked up to me as I held a sword in my hand, although I wanted to use my spear but right now since we were in a large group I fear I might accidentally pierce someone instead. She looked the sword on my hip, it was sheathed she waited for me to answer.

"It doesn't hurt to be prepared just in case."

"Are you underestimating my strength?"

"Certainly not but I always want to be prepared just in case, this is my first time exploring a dungeon so I would like to be familiar and besides it doesn't hurt to be cautious"

"Then come up front with me since you look more excited than usual."

I just looked at her as she had a smug smile on her face, I nodded, I then looked at Aerin who nodded at me, I already told her to be prepared just in case anything happens.

"You know you're not the first person who acts like they don't care or have a stoic face but I do know when someone is excited for battle."

"How so?"

"I have a strong gut feeling, besides I was like you when I was young, You want to know why I joined the academy when I could just join the army?"

Frankly I didn't care but her past was never explained in detail and how she got into the academy aside from her goal of being a teacher.

"Wars can only do so much and once you've conquered everything there's nothing left for you to do something."

"This relates to you joining the academy exactly how?"

"Here the dungeon spawns monsters infinitely and the deeper you go the stronger they become, of course this is why you won't see me on weekends as I'm busy clearing."

"So you're using the dungeon as anger management therapy?"

"Anger Management?"

"Forget what I said."

As soon as I said that she immediately threw a fireball as she looked at me with a straight face.

"There was a bug over there, there are three goblins over there, mind killing them for me?"
