Chapter 5 - Who

"Aerin?"

We both looked at who called us and it wasn't surprising to say the least, it was Elludin.

"Hey there"

"For a second there I thought Aerin was hugging somebody else"

Elludin wasn't a smart guy, more or less he lacked common sense aside coming from House Alma he really was just a rich second generation.

"Yeah, the princess just slipped and I just caught her"

"I see, thank you Claude!"

Over the years I've tested him and to my conclusion he is just as dumb as every protagonists first villain.

Elludin was the first villain in the academy since he aside from ordering people who would fawn over him to stop people getting near to Aerin.

He was pretty much a useless villain, and to make sure he stays that way I've been planning to steal every hidden skills on our around Noryata so he wouldn't end up being a cockroach in the future.

"What do you want?"

Aerin looked at her as she released me, she looked pissed and I can't blame her.

"It's time for our tea time Princess."

"I'll be going, go on ahead I'll catch up"

"I'll see you at the garden then"

Elludin bowed as he walked happily, I really am glad he's a dumb person plus with the way he thinks, he just thinks me and Aerin are close childhood friends.

"Now."

Aerin suddenly kissed me again, after a short while she nodded and left.

-

As I was walking towards my workshop someone bumped into me, I looked at the one who bumped into me.

"Is Death Like the Wind"

"Who knows, maybe it is maybe it isn't"

The one who bumped me then gave me a folder and left hurriedly, well it was one of my underling and it was a code for a mission success.

I then entered the place, there tons of Elves could be seen copying and writing something, some were chanting spells, and some well they were just sleeping.

This place was my base in the Capital, these people are all loyal to me, They're people who I saved when I was on missions, long story short they were captured and were to be sold so I saved them.

Luckily I knew the routes ahead of time now they don't know where to go so I offered them a new life here.

I didn't treat them as slaves, I made sure they get compensated as handsomely some even swore oaths to serve me forever.

"Big Brother!"

A child came up to me with a piece of paper, it looked he drew something.

"What is it?"

"I drew you!"

"Let me see"

"Vram! Don't disturb the young lord come here, I'm sorry for his behaviour"

"It's nothing you guys can continue."

I just smiled and patted the head of the kid named Vram, I then went to my office, this place is not only a workshop but their house, it's pretty common in the Listeria, hell they even made a farm behind the workshop.

'The preparations are complete, the shop has been set-up, income is better than expected.'

I read the reports, currently there was little to no people trying coffee in other territories aside from Listeria, as absurd as it sounds Coffee didn't exist in this world.

I bought tons of Cocoa beans from the system's shop and planted myself, its currently the number one drink in Listeria and it sells for a lot outside some even tried smuggling it but I told the King he would get 10% and my family 20% of profits they agreed to guard my plantation and people in secret.

Tea was the premium but since I made coffee and tons of other types such as a Mocha, Latte, Espresso and many more I've earned a lot and it beat Tea out of the picture and it made me able to buy a land in Noryata as well.

If I can't venture out of Listeria's borders might as well be a tycoon at it, I've got Coffee and Books, the Shop I established in Noryata was a Regular Cafe where one can read the books and buy coffee.

Of course It had the Listeria's Emblem engraved on it, no one would dare try to intimidate that shop as trying to would equate to being hunted by the royal guards so it was in a good position.

Currently People of High Status had begun staying there and it had gain some fame including Coffee, next would be Cake which I planned to produce when in Noryata as wages are cheaper and people are more abundant.

Yes, as I've become an elf, well my outlook has changed, I've learned to love my family as they have loved me you can call it innate.

As much as I miss humanity, life here is much simpler, everyone is like a big family there's rarely any fights and if there are its usually in the Arena people trying to gain recognition or wanting to get noticed by the five houses.

That's why.

"Damn, human slaves are cheap."

I looked at the cost, they ranged from 20 Coppers to 2 gold, compared to Elves who would be sold at 60 Silvers to 100 Gold depending on the age.

Well I now have to plan what I should do since we're going there next week.

As I was busy reading and writing reports, a sprout appeared beside me, I noticed it since it was full of life.

I turned around to look at it, it then opened and a seed was inside.

[ Ding! ]

[ World Tree's Seed! ]

[ The World Tree cannot bear to part with you as you leave for Noryata thus he has decided to give you one of his many seeds containing his essence.]

[ Allows the host to communicate with the main body of the tree, boosts plant life on area planted, automatically will protect the area host is in ]

"I got a free bodyguard, nice"

I took the seed and placed it in my inventory, it was getting late so I decided to go home and call it a day.

_

"Life here sure is different"

I began walking back instead of taking the carriage back home.

I've had the opportunity to get ahead I took advantage of what I could, I now had the resources but what I lacked were more skills to make more flexible and unpredictable.

'Right about now'

"Give me your money."

"I don't have any."

"You're robe is worth around 300 Gold on the market."

"Oh"

"Cut the excuses and hand it over"

"You really shouldn't do this."

I felt the blade on my neck being pressed, I even felt my blood slowly trickling down.

"Then don't bla- wha!"

I touched my neck and healed it, I then looked at the one who tried to rob me. I entangled her using vines, Listeria is completely protected by the World Tree so I just told the World Tree in advance.

"Let me down!"

"Why should I?"

"Because!"

"Can't hear you."

"Please I only did it for my family!"

"I also have a family."

"But you're rich."

"And that makes me a target right?"

I then removed her cowl and mask, not to my surprise it was a girl, she had green hair and green eyes, she had a small face, she looked pretty, If i were to rate her she would be an 9 out of 10.

"Release me please"

I could see her eyes forming tears, I went near her, my face was now near her I could feel her breath.

"Nice try."

"Damn you!"

I then showed my emblem, her eyes widened, she knew that any form of violence or anything that would disrupt the peace or harmony between our race would be a capital offence.

"You know what would happen right?"

"..."

"Then you should be prepared."

I went near her once again, I could see her eyes were drained of life but to her shock I released the vines that were rooting her.

"What do you want."

"Is this your first time?"

"Y-Yes."

"Bad luck, then tell me the reason why you are acting this way."

"My-my mother is very sick, and I don't have enough Gold to buy the necessary herbs."

"Take me to her then."

"No!"

"Then would you rather die here or would you rather see your mother for the last time?"

"I!"

"If you try anything funny well just know I could kill you."

Her body flinched, she then nodded.

"I'll lead the way then."

"Go on."
