On their arrival, King Hendrickson and his wife Samantha Boyle, welcomed them and then all of them walked inside the castle of Santok. Inside the grand hall of the castle was filled with men and women all dressed up elegantly for the royal ball. Some of them were waltzing to the beats of the pleasant music that had been playing. The room was brightly lit and it had cheerful vibes all around.
It had been only been a few minutes since they were inside the room and Callisto and Oberon were asked for a dance by so many women already. People believed that the royal family was organizing the ball so that prince of Santok and Bellicus would pick up a fine woman from among them and that is why all the young women were dressed excessively for the ball. But both Callisto and Oberon rejected them generously.
Suddenly someone tapped on Selene's shoulder and she turned back almoost too instantly as an immediate reflex.
"Alex!" Selene smiled when she saw Prince Alexander.
"You look enchanting Selene!" He complimented her. Selene wasn't good at catching things but it was quite obvious that Prince Alexander was fond of her.
"All thanks to sister Ariel." She replied.
Prince Alexander then turned around and greeted her siblings.
"Mind if I may ask the reason for this grand ball?" Callisto questioned curious about the event.
"Father said he had to announce about something important and what better excuse to host a ball." Replied Prince Alexander.
"Though I must thank the King for throwing this grand event. After all it's a rare sight seeing our sister dressed up as an actual woman." Tethys teased again.
"Tethys!" Oberon put a hand on his shoulder to shut him and he immediately stopped.
Realizing the situation, Alexander asked, "Would you like a dance Selene?" He drew out his hand for her to take and she did.
People who had been dancing moved to the sides and the music began again. Callisto and Ariel joined them as well while Oberon and Tethys stood on their spots.
The royal children began to waltz, spinning and shuffling their feet to slow rhythmic music. They were the centre of attention as every person present in the room had their eyes on them.
On one side of the castle the room was filled with laughter and chatter while on the other much secluded section of the castle King Hendrickson and King Themiesto were engaged in discussing about the upcoming battle.
Santok and Bellicus were neighbouring kingdoms and both shared borders with the wolf territory. For centuries, they have been fighting off the wolves and keeping them from entering their lands but in the recent years, there were several rumors about the population of the wolves increasing and they were apprehensive if this keeps on continuing then they will sooner invade their lands and thousands of lives might be at risk.
Inside the room where King Themiesto and King Hendrickson were, there was a huge table in the center of the room. It was the core of attention where a geographical map of Santok, Bellicus and neighboring territories was set. Both the kings were standing on either side of the table and were observing it.
"As always you have succeeded in captivating my heart without fail with your kingdom's uniqueness and your keen sense of hospitality. But as much as I am delighted by the beauty of it all, I cannot push away the thought that has been nagging me all along?" Themiesto remarked as he moved his head around.
"I wonder if this huge ball was just the cue for the two of us to began handling the wolf problem or there was some other reason for such celebration?" Themisto finally met his eyes with Hendrickson as he raised his head from the map.
"It's true!" Hendrickson moved away from the table, "Today's event is not just a get together for the two of our families. There are so many other reasons as well. The first being the werewolf problem and the second. . ." He stopped speaking as he recalled what has been going on through his head all along. "Well I'll come to the second one later but first let us pay some necessary attention to the problem at our hands."
"Although I am much curious about the second one, I'll say let's handle the wolf problem first." Replied Themisto.
Hendrickson Boyle whose eyes were fixated outside the window gleamed with the bright lights of the crackers and lamps and he then grabbed Themisto's attention towards the map once again.
There was a pointer laid on the map and Hendrickson moved it and placed it on a different spot than before.
"This is the place where the wolves were spotted a week ago." He stated.
