Later that night when the captive had woke up Leon and Lester had seen to making sure the man was cleaned up before Leon forced him into the living room to see Duan Cai. Where he stood was centered between all three of them to ensure that Leon did not allow him to escape or do as he pleased in Inferno Nexus. Duan Cai was not worried about it because he had already ensured himself that Bullet was unable to do anything against him even if he wanted to. Calmly he sat there on his chair while sipping cold tea and slowly eating candies from his table.
"Sir, what are we doing with him?" Leon asked with determination to know why they were keeping a Kaen member alive in their mansion.
"As I said earlier.. I simply found myself a new dog." Duan Cai said as he studied the man carefully.
Bullet looked much healthier now that he had been healed and cleaned up. His tri colored eyes were more easily noticeable. They were a mixture of red, orange, and yellow almost like a blazing inferno and were easy to admire if he was not so obvious with the determination to kill Duan Cai deep in his gaze. His black hair was less filthy and held more of a glossed over look to it once it was properly cared for. The clothes that Leon had found for the man was a pair of jeans with a black dress shirt that was rimmed in a bright red. It suited the man since he was a Kaen member who cultivated fire. From the design of the shirt though he presumed it was obviously one of Leon's himself.
"I am no one's dog!" Bullet grit his teeth and shouted at Duan Cai with fury.
"I think you're mistaken you have no choice in this matter." Duan Cai refuted the man's choice to refuse working for him.
"Bullshit!" The man shouted again.
Lester and Leon both looked at them both confused at the situation. They were not sure how Duan Cai planned to convert Bullet to work for him when the man was simply a hired killer and from the sect that wanted him dead more than anything else.
A golden light burst forth in the room as Duan Cai held out his hand grasping it. The aura was in the form of a golden chain that was grasped in his hand while the chain was extended out to the point it was coming from Bullet's throat. Quickly he yanked it towards him causing Bullet to fall to his hands and knees where he stood. Slowly he rose to his feet as he walked over to Bullet and knelt down as he glared Bullet straight in the eyes. There was now a golden mark under his pair of tri colored eyes that looked similar to crescent moons on their back.
"My brand looks rather nice with those eyes of yours, La Mia Stella." Duan Cai smiled in a warm way, but with the mood in the room it only gave everyone a chill down their spine.
Unknown to the others or even to bullet how he had done it Duan Cai had used his own aura to chain the man's very soul to Duan Cai.
"What the hell did you do to me?" Bullet snarled at him.
"A simple parlor trick of course.. Your very soul is now mine. If I die you die with me." Duan Cai of course had not bound him to the point that he would die if he did, but he was not willing to admit that to Bullet at this point. Bullet was unable to go against him due to their bond because the way their souls were bound Duan Cai would know everything that the man thought and felt. His soul was bound to him, but if Duan Cai died he had no desire to drag the mortal down with him as well so he simply left that part of him free. If he died one day the mortal would be released from his chains once again however it was much too early to allow Bullet to be aware of that.
"What the hell.." Bullet muttered under his breath as his body shook where he was kneeling.
"Bullet, what an interesting dog of mine you shall be.. fascinating indeed." Duan Cai thought out loud before shaking his hand and ordering Lester to remove Bullet from the room.
"Boss, I thought you wanted to find out information from him? Why are you keeping him as a pet?" Leon grit his teeth annoyed.
"Did I not say I bound his soul to mine? Did you not see my brand mark under his eyes?" Duan Cai sat back down on his chair and sipped at his tea.
"What do you mean?" Leon asked.
"Mortals," Duan Cai sighed to himself "His soul is bound to mine. His very thoughts and emotions run through me like a pipeline.. Before he can so much as express himself everything in his head comes to me first. Therefore, of course, all his knowledge becomes mine as well."
"How is that even possible?!" Leon shouted out in surprise.
It was something that was unheard of to him or anyone else for that matter. It was not a simple cultivation trick and was only possible for Duan Cai because he still held his abilities from his world. He could play it off as he was a cultivator but at the end of the day he was far beyond comprehension of earthly mortals. It was the same of course for Saigai who was plotting against Duan Cai and thanks to his chain connecting Bullet to him he was sure that Saigai was involved somewhere.
Leon did not ever question him even if he knew his abilities exceeded common sense. It only fed to the admiration others had for Duan Cai. Whether they knew he was a god or not from another world at the end of the day they still saw him as if he was a deity in their eyes filled with admiration. Those who were under him simply did not care about where he came from or what he was and followed him purely for their own reasons.
