Chereads / The Immortal Duan Cai / Chapter 18 - Chapter 17

Chapter 18 - Chapter 17

Somewhere in the city a pair of golden eyes glowed with a hint of hatred as they watched the mortals walking along the city from atop a tall building. The people below looked like ants and were loud. It was something disgusting watching them scurry about with out a care in the world of the things around them. This world was filthy and cowardly.

"Trash! Filth! All of it! What the hell is with this world! This is his fault!" The insults kept coming one after another from the man as he bared his teeth as a rumbling growl escaped his body.

A black shadowy aura enveloped his body as his golden eyes filled with rage. There was nothing but hatred for the world in his eyes. He wanted it all destroyed. Duan Cai had caused them both to fall from their world and he wanted to drag Duan Cai down to hell even if he had to fall to hell with him. there was no chance for him to want to let Duan Cai off for what he had caused to happen to them both.

Home was what the man wanted and had hoped to go back to when they had fallen, but he had not yet seen Duan Cai and he had found no clue as to the way back home. Staying on earth with mortals like insects was not something he had even the slightest desire to do. If he was given a chance he would watch this world burn. This world know him as their new god, a devil among men, and he would destroy the one who dragged him down to such a filthy place. He would laugh as he destroyed their filthy world with his own hands until he could return to his true home.

"I will watch you and everything around you burn to ash, Duan Cai!" He declared his goal out loud with a killing intent that caused the very clouds above the city to strike lightning and begin pouring rain.

He had once been a god among their previous world along side Duan Cai until their fall happened. Everything from the moment before he judged to be Duan Cai's doing and it caused a hatred to rage within his heart. Unlike Duan Cai he did not fall into a mortal's body. When he fell his true form had fallen with him. He was still not as powerful a god as Duan Cai, but given time he was sure he could come to over power and end that man's life once and for all.

At the end of the day he thought of one way after another he could kill Duan Cai, but he felt a desire to destroy everything around Duan Cai first and cause him as much pain as he could before ending his life. Watching Duan Cai struggle to hold on to everything around him gave him a pleasing feeling inside. He wanted to see that god drop to his knees and beg him. If he pleaded him for forgiveness or even to end him and let everything else off he was sure he would enjoy the very sight of Duan Cai pleading him.

He ran raised a mask over the lower half of his face as his shaggy black hair blew in breeze. His eyes looked emotionally dead as his eyes were pure black with a hint of gold. He was wearing black pants and a ripped up yellow shirt.

Taking a step forward his body plunged feet first from the roof of the building. The breeze caused his hair to go straight up while he was falling. People below who saw him fall shouted in terror as they expected him to die upon impact at the bottom, but he merely landed on his feet with his knees slightly bent and his hands in his pockets. Everyone stared at him in amazement as they glanced at the shattered concrete where he had landed with a loud boom that caused even those who weren't looking to turn their heads in fright.

The cold glare from the man caused them all to step back further away from him in fear. If looks could kill they all surely would have dropped dead. Little did they know that if he really wanted them dead at that second they really could have died with his mere look if he used his aura on them.

Back in his world he was known as one of the top gods under Duan Cai. He was a cold blooded god who was known to cause calamities among their world. Duan Cai had been one of the gods who had put him under a tight leash and for a few thousand years he even spent time sealed away in a cell where the other gods would keep watch over him and refuse to release him due to him being a cold blooded calamity.

He wanted to be free, but back in his own world. Duan Cai had accidentally caused them both to fall from their world and as a result Saigai, the god of calamity has been set loose on an unsuspecting world with a thirst for revenge.

"Who is that?"

"Did I just see that right?"

"Didn't he just jump from that building? How is he alive still??"

The whispers flooded the street as Saigai quickly darted into the crowded streets and vanished from sight. Many of the onlookers kept whispering and discussing what had happened. Some of them thought it was a stunt while others thought differently. Nobody could make heads or tales of what had just happened. The only sign that he had been there was the large cracked are of concrete where he had landed when he walked off the roof. Public opinion of the situation had many versions and ideas on what happened, but it didn't take long for word of his jump to hit social media.

That night in the city many people were asking about who he was. Some people had sent out requests to find the stunt man capable of pulling off such a jump, but nobody could think of a single person who could manage such a feat. Among the mortals, however, cultivators man to whisper among each other and ask who among them did it. The only type of person they could imagine pulling something like that off would be one among them. Usually cultivators tried to stay under the radar so someone doing something so openly in public naturally raised a lot of hate remarks to whoever did it.

Among the cultivators the top name mentioned and blamed for assumption of doing it was naturally Duan Cai.
