A few days later the entire mansion was covered in silence as usual and life was peaceful. It seemed like the life of the mansion had regained it's natural heavenly aura that anyone would love. Thanks to Duan Cai's request a few days ago the cat that would sneak into his yard all the time was no where to be seen so even the German shepherd he owned had been quiet. At the moment he could only find himself napping in a window where he had propped himself on the window frame. The warm breeze was relaxing him to the point where he had dozed off slightly.
"BAM!"
The door slammed open causing Duan Cai to slightly jump and almost tumble out the window. He had to quickly grab hold of the window frame with a slight look of shock as he glared towards the door to see who was storming into the mansion's living room with such rough movements. Instantly when he looked he found his face being smashed into a tight grasp against a bouncy, warm, and squishy bundle of lumps that made his body tense up tightly.
"I'm home, baby boss!" The woman shouted with excitement as she held Duan Cai so tightly that he had to struggle fiercely to escape her grasp and push her away from him.
"Adele! Stop it! Leon! LEON! GET IN HERE NOW!" Duan Cai shouted loudly for backup to remove the wench from him. No matter how many times he saw this women she always reeked of booze and would not leave him alone. At times he regretted ever bringing her in off the streets.
She had been a homeless woman on the street that bounced from place to place when he found her. She would scam men out of their money or stick to them for the sake of free booze. It did not matter how much money the woman was handed because the second it landed in her hands it would all end up on liquor for her stomach to drink. One would wonder why she did not have a beer gut with the way she drank, but her figure was near perfect regardless of how badly she downed liquor all the time.
Adele had short curly hair of a pink color while her eyes were green like emeralds. The dress she was currently wearing was short to the point it seemed almost impossible to go any further up without revealing things to the eye that could make a person uncomfortable in Duan Cai's situation. It was even shortly cut to expose the top of her chest to those who'd like to admire her full size. Adele was a show off and she was not afraid to do so. She was not completely exposed, but she was exposed just enough to make any man fall over or walk into a wall if she walked on past them in public.
"What the hell are you wearing.." Duan Cai muttered under his breath as he looked away from her. No matter what this woman always enjoyed toying with him so bad he felt like throwing her right out the window and locking it shut with her outside.
"What? You like it, baby boss?" Adele asked as she leaned in closer to Duan Cai.
Stop it down there! He thought to himself as he tried to calm himself down. Duan Cai was not good with dealing with this drunkard and could only sigh in relief as he saw Leon rushing into the room to grab her and pull her back from him. Adele was a true alcoholic and had no real intention towards Duan Cai. She just enjoyed teasing him to his limits and doing what she could to get money from him for liquor; she would even accept just pure liquor itself if it wasn't cash. Her loyalty simply sat with where ever the booze was flowing from and Duan Cai was aware of that. It did not make her abilities any less useful for him as long as she was fed with booze she would do whatever task was given to her.
"So what's the news on what I asked you to investigate?" Duan Cai asked as he glared at her. He could tell Leon was holding onto her firmly at the shoulders so she could not move closer to Duan Cai. It almost made Leon seem like a sort of leash in the situation as Adele would try to move occasionally.
"There was a man matching the description you gave me, but as far as I could tell the signs pointed to he had moved towards the city already." She replied with a exhausted tone as if she was tired of working and just wanted her liquor already.
"He's in the city?" Duan Cai asked quietly as he thought over some things in his mind. The man he was looking for did not like crowds so it was hard to imagine he would come to such a large population without a reason.
"Yes, apparently he was searching or something himself and the people of that small village said he packed up and left over night without a word. They didn't know much, just enough to presume it is the person you're looking for."
Could he be looking for.. that? Duan Cai thought to himself as he tried to figure out the purpose of the man's actions. He knew the man had fallen to earth the same time he had, but figuring out his motives were still something of a puzzle for Duan Cai.
"You can take your booze and go.. I am heading to the study for the night." Duan Cai stated as he quickly fled the room. His movements were quick to get as far from Adele as possible while he also wanted to simply investigate things further on his own. He was not sure how much longer he could stand being in the same room with that brainless woman and could tell that Leon was finding it as an amusement due to how flustered Duan Cai could get when she forced herself to be in his presence.
He quickly made his way to his study and locked himself inside with his books for the night. It was the safest place for him where others could not enter without his direct permission. That was a thing he loved about the study. Everyone should have a safe place in their world and for him at the moment it was his study where he could remain in silence without others around him.
