Chapter 38 - Lose Myself

"I am not good with feelings, and I didn't really know you liked me that way until today. I thought you had a bad temper at first, but now it's grown on me, and I like you just the way you are. I think you are beautiful, and I would like to keep you by my side as long as I draw breath in this world," I said, and Annie leaned into me, and I put a hand on her back as she laid her head on my shoulder.

"I like the sound of that. I will try to do what the girls say and just relax. I really like you, and I get a bit crazy when I think about you, because I wanted to tell you this, but I was too embarrassed. I was also worried that you weren't going to feel the same," Annie said, and I nodded.

"I was worried that if we became more than friends, it might ruin the mission, and I would fail everyone again. I know that probably sounds silly to you," I said, thinking the same thing now that I had talked to Gaston.
