Things were really getting out of hand.
Jay sighed, not for the first time, as he shifted from foot to foot. He was now tending to the fires that were slowly dying, trying to keep it up for much longer as the nighttime was all around him. With the sunset, had come the loss of warmth, and also the sounds of the forest waking up.
The weary Alpha, still searching for his missing daughter, put more kindling into the fire, feeding it and tending to it. He needed to make the kindling last until the next hours as he rested for a bit, and before then, this fire could not under any circumstance, go off.
Once he was fairly certain that the fire was not going to be dying anytime soon, Jay sat back on the log of wood he had been occupying for the past few hours.
The sounds of crickets chirping and the nocturnal animals waking up caused Jay to mutter under his breath.
