The grandfather clock chimed loudly as it struck 2pm. Oliver's visibly shook at its loudness. The damn thing never knew when to stop. It was the absolute nemesis of his life. He was so annoyed that his father had replaced the modern clock with this, all in a bid to belong in a society that doesn't value them. Crazy life!
He'd arrived home an hour ago. It had been so quiet, and his mother wasn't home. In fact, there was no-one home, which was so good. He didn't want anyone to have an inkling that he skipped school. His mother would have thrown a fit.
The woman was so paranoid, and quite boring when she wanted to be. A sigh escaped his lips, as he jumped down from the bed, sliding his big feet into his Leather-Paws slippers. He glanced at the portable cloche he'd received for his 17th birthday, and smiled. It was right in time for his launch. If he didn't eat, life would lose its colour.
'You're so funny, Olive,' He thought fondly.
