Caroline and Kol were walking down the street,
"What the hell do you think you are doing?" Kol asked, and she jumped, as she didn't know what she had done. She certainly hadn't expected that as a conversation opener.
"What? What did I do?" Caroline turned towards him, surprised.
"You are the girl who is dating Nik, Are you crazy?" He asked, "Are you?"
"No...Why?" She was more surprised.
"He is a lunatic…" He told her, "Crazy!"
"Well, couldn't someone say the same about you?" Caroline asked him.
"Yes.." Kol smiled, "But I don't dagger anyone, my siblings none the less!"
"You can change it, can't you?" Caroline said, "If you burn the daggers?"
She asked.
"That is a brilliant idea!" He mocked softly, "But, he keeps the daggers close by."
"Well, I'll get them for you." She told Kol.
"And why would you do that?" Kol asked her, as she went inside a shop. "This is a toy shop, what are you doing in a toy shop?"
"In case you noticed, I came to town with a kid."Caroline told him, "You sure ask many questions!"
Caroline was looking for some toys as she looked at what Zach would like. And Kol disappeared, she didn't realize he was gone when she put all things she had picked out on the counter. But there was no one to attend to her.
"Hello!" She tapped at the bell on the counter.
But no one came, she waited for a while, and then got exasperated.
She looked around, she saw Kol drinking from the sales assistant.
"What the hell are you doing?" She pulled him away from the woman. "She's going to die!"
Caroline could hear her heart rate slowing down. She bit her arm, and shoved in the woman's face. After she had healed, Caroline compelled her.
"You are a party spoiler, Caroline!" He looked almost angry.
"And you were going to kill her!"
"So!" Kol shrugged, "Is she your friend or something?"
"No!"
"Then, what was the matter?" Kol demanded.
"She's a person, Kol."
He shook his head.
"I intend to ask Nik why he likes you!" Kol grumbled.
"Fine!"
Caroline wasn't listening, Kol was much like Klaus. He was just being obnoxious and she knew it.
"Let me ask you something for a change!" Caroline turned towards, "You could have gone into town by yourself, why did you come with me?"
"I wanted to see what it was that Nik is swooning over you!" Kol spoke blandly. "And I can't say I see anything!"
She laughed.
"Why don't you ask him?" She told him.
She stopped,
"I need something here."
"A cafe?" Kol opened the door for her. "What do you want from a cafe?
"Thank you."
Kol Mikaelson was a gentleman, just like his brothers, but to only people he liked.
When she came inside, she spotted Davina Claire in the corner.
"Hello, Davina Claire." She shook hands with her, "Caroline Forbes. We have met once before."
"I think the whole of New Orleans knows who you are." Davina smiled.
"I asked you for a protection spell," She replied, "A powerful one….in return," Caroline opened her purse. "Six pages from the Esther Mikaelson Grimoire in return for the spell. Same as last time."
She told her.
"Thank you." Davina smiled much wider this time. As she took the papers.
"The spell is for a baby, in the Mikaelson Compound."
"The twins, right?" She asked.
Caroline felt relieved that the news of the Mikaelson baby being twins was spreading.
"Right!" Caroline said promptly.
Kol cleared his throat loudly. He threw Caroline a look.
"Oh...Okay!" Caroline was a little confused. "Davina Claire, this is Kol." She smiled. "Kol Mikaelson, this is Davina."
Davina and Kol exchanged smiles.
"Well, I'll see later, Davina." She told her, "At four O'clock, for the spell on Zach."
She nodded,
"And I guess, I'll see you at home." She told Kol.
He nodded, she bent down, and whispered in his ear.
"Mention Zach not being in your family, or ruin this for him," She hissed, "I'll scour the Earth for a white oak, and stake you myself!"
"You wish!" Kol smirked. "And now I see something…."
She laughed.
"See you at the Compound, Kol!" She told him.
Caroline walked back to the Mikaelson Compound, she was extremely happy. Zach would be safe, and that was all she wanted.
Hayley was invited into the Bayou for dinner, when Caroline and Klaus were down in the living room.
Hope and Zach were sleeping in the cribs. She stared down at them.
"Caroline?" He came near her, holding her arms.
"Huh?" She turned. "Hmm?"
"For how long will you stare at them, love?" He asked, he was holding a bottle of champagne. "They are asleep."
"I know…" She whispered. "But look at them."
Hope Mikaelson held her finger. She smiled.
"Look at her."
"Come on, Caroline." He tried to pull her away, but she didn't move.
"You are lucky to have it all, Klaus." Caroline told him. "Family, friends, a beautiful baby."
"You have friends and family as well." Klaus told her.
"I am the last of the Forbes." Caroline turned towards him, "My parents were only children, so I have no cousins." She explained, "My parents are dead."
He looked at her,
"I have no siblings." She told him, "So, I have no family, Klaus. As for my friends, all mortal friends who will soon leave."
Tears came to her eyes.
"And I am here, standing here. With two babies who aren't even mine…..But I love them so much." The tear fell from her eye to her cheek. "That I feel that my heart might explode."
He took her hands,
"Caroline, I can be your friend. Your family." He told her, "As for the baby, Hope is as much yours as mine. I give you my word. I promise."
She smiled.
"And…..Zach!" He pointed towards Zach Salvatore, "Stefan could only choose you, you to keep Zach safe."
"You can talk your way anywhere!" Caroline laughed, with tears, "You know that…."
She wiped them off, "I feel better."
"I do know." He hugged her. His chin on her head. "Because Rebekah says I can talk my way through hell."
"I think you can." Caroline told him.
Hope started to cry, and Caroline picked her up.
"Shh…" She hushed her. "It's okay, sweetie."
Caroline was having the best time in New Orleans, even though she was missing her friends.
