Saiyi ran to the balcony, Wep in tow. He could barely keep up with Saiyi who had forgotten her godly strength. She swung open the doors to the open air with enough force that they bounced back nearly colliding with Wep as he trailed through after. She took both is hands stopping him a few metres from the balcony balustrade.
"Kiss me." Wep wasted no time following orders. He gave her a kiss. Not as deeply as before but gentle, sweet, and filled with him. His smell filled her air.
"Was that ok. Will it help?"
"Oh no. That was just because I wanted to."
Without looking the young Goddess took a step back and lept backward with all her Chosen strength. She soared high into the air until Wep could only see the glow of her amulet. To him it looked more pink that usual, but he dismissed it as his imagination. On her way up Saiyi never once took her eyes off of Wep. When she reached the apex of her jump she willed herself to stop to see him clearly. She did. Saiyi the girl from the Shadows of Thay was hanging in the air as easily as she stood on the ground. She broke her line of sight to Wep, daring to look around. The view was incredible. The island's city lights casting a soft white glow as far as she could see. The ground far below lost in a haze. Here and there she spotted aircars traveling about their own business. Not a single one was above her current altitude. Saiyi spun in place as a test. No trace of fear remained in her. She pawed some hair out of her face. She made a mental note to braid it more tightly next time. The very thought that there would be a next time caused excitement.
Still carefull and gingerly she decresed her height until she was floating just beyond the balcony edge. She had her arms folded with a vicotious grin on her face.
"You are amazing." Wep called out.
"Me? This is all you silly boy." She gestured to her self in general.
"I gave it a fifty-fifty. I guessed the worst case was landing on the floor a bit hard."
"The Mother Goddess was right."
"How so?"
"I'm flying because I'm focussing inward. Thank you." Saiyi's voice was soft and sincere.
"It is my honour to serve you my Goddess." Wep gave a deep bow before looking up with a raised eyebrow. "So are you just going to bob there?"
"Ha. Fuck no."
Saiyi streaked off as fast as she could will it. One moment Wep had her floating in arms reach, then the next she had vanished into the night. The Chosen had no idea how fast she was going but the lights beneath her became a smear. She found that even at this speed it took her no more effort than walking. She closed her eyes, focussed. She grabbed the feeling inside and spurred it. When she opened her eyes again her amulet was visibly glowing. She squinted her eyes to the distant darkness and poured on the power. The wind around her changed from a gust to a hurricane. Below her the lights had become a single blur of grey. Then, nothing. She was flying free in the dark of the night. Her eyes adjusted, the cool blue of the moonlight lay bare the wasteland far below. Saiyi slowed to a slow glide to admire the desert sand. The dunes and rock features all seemed peaceful from here. Turning slowly and carefully the island came into view once more. She had travelled many kilometres from her origin. Pride swelled within her as she took in the sights. She bobed up and down as a test with no trouble. Then with a deep breath she dropped one toe pointing down to the wastelands below. She judged the ground rushing up to her and started to slow herwself. She down like a feather only lightly touching the sand in fear that landing would break the spell. Hovering there, she let the heat from the sand warm her against the cold night air. When ready Saiyi looked up to the moon above, stretching her arms up. Then she exploded back into the air, trailing a tail of sand in the wake she left. The young Goddess acended to the height she judged the balcony to be. The island floating there as if saying 'See it's not so difficult'
"Well then. It's not going to come to me."
Saiyi closed her eyes halfway and once more took off. The roar and billowing of the wind buffeting her clothes and throwing her hair in all directions. From below along with the glow from her gem, she could have almost been mistaken for a shooting star. The tower zoomed into view. She targeted the balcony until she spotted Wep. She redirected her trajectory to his position. When she neared the tower she realised she was going to fast. She tried to stop and called to Wep.
"Incoming!"
The dark man shifted his feet, keeping his eyes on the Goddess streaking toward him. He timed his jump and lept up grabbing Saiyi's wrists. He landed and spun her dissipating most of her kinetic energy. They ended up colliding into a wall. Wep pressing up against Saiyi tightly, face to face.
