"Fumiko...Fumiko!", Tadashi's voice echoes throughout the forest. He is standing at the gate of a house inside the forest, calling out for Fumiko. "Yes, father", said Fumiko while arriving at the house. "Where were you?", asked Tadashi. "Playing with the dears", Fumiko replied with a smile. Tadashi also smiled and said, "Okay, now go inside. I am going to fill water from the river." He continued, "Do not come out until I arrive, Okay?". "Okay", said Fumiko and went inside. Tadashi picked up a bucket and arrived at the river. The sun was about to set, He looked at the shiny river and washed his face. Then he had a flashback of his wife, Hanabi, singing a lullaby while holding little Fumiko in her hands. Tears went down Tadashi's cheeks and he began to sing the same lullaby:
"Oh, my dear Fumiko!
Oh, my dear Fumiko!
The shining river and the setting sun,
are calling out your name,
The singing birds and swinging trees,
are calling out your name,
Oh my..."
Eventually, he heard the sound of bushes from his right. He stopped and drew out a dagger. It was already night. A wolf-like creature made up of black smoke appeared from the bushes. Tadashi got shocked, "A... A Zart... but... how? No, no, no, this can't be..." He calmed down himself and got into a fighting stance. As the Zart jumped on him to attack, a strange white sign appeared on its back. Tadashi dodged the attack and while dodging, he stabbed his dagger at that mark. The Zart fell down and slowly vanished. "If a Zart is here then the gate must have been opened, the gate of Imbertha. It means... Fumiko! she is in danger. I have to get home before it's too late", He said to himself. Then he picked up his dagger and started running towards his home.
--Note 1.1: "Zart" is a demonic creature made up of shadow. Any attack on it is useless as it goes through its body. There is only one way to kill it, attack on the mark on its back, just one small cut can kill it. But the mark only appears during Zart's attack.--
Tadashi was running across the woods when he noticed that there are more Zarts in his way. He stayed calm and ran toward them. And, in the blink of an eye, he dashed and went through all of them, cutting through the marks on their bodies. As he stopped, all the Zarts behind him started to vanish in the air like smoke. He smiled and said, "It has been a long time since I did that before. Wait! gotta go home and find Fumiko". He panicked and ran home.
On his way, he encountered a Mutant Zart which was 5 times bigger than the original one, it had faster attacks and bigger claws with two sharp tentacles on its back. Tadashi jumped in the air and the Mutant Zart attacked him with one of his tentacles, but then something weird happened. Tadashi disappeared from his front in the air and jumped on its back from behind. It looked like he teleported. His red eyes started glowing and the dagger in his hand infused with red-colored electricity. then he spun with his dagger leaving a red trail and sliced off both of its tentacles. after his tentacles got separated, the mark appeared on its back. Tadashi shouted: "Get lost!", and stabbed his red dagger in the mark, suddenly red lightning from the sky struck the dagger, and the Mutant Zart howled with pain and vanished.
After he arrived home he knocked at the door twice and shouted, "Fumiko!". No one answered so he kicked the door open. He entered the hose and, to his surprise, the dead body of Fumiko was lying in front of him. For a moment, he saw the body of Hanabi instead of Fumiko. The head of Fumiko was separated from the body and eaten. There were bloodstains everywhere. He fell to his knees and began to cry. "Promise me. Promise me that you will take care of her at every cost." He remember Hanabi's word's when she was counting her last breath. She was lying on the ground just like that and Tadashi was holding her in his hands. "Sorry! I am sorry Hanabi. I couldn't protect her", he said. "Don't cry, you couldn't protect but you can avenge her", He heard a female voice and a light, warm hand on his shoulder.
