I spent twenty minutes explaining why I had to say all the bad things I said earlier. Thankfully, she didn't drag it which meant that she understood my intentions.
It was getting very late at night and so we had to return home to rest but before then, I secretly met the waiter. Just as I felt something wrong about Elsa, I feel suspicious of the girl for many reasons I can't start mentioning now.
For me to know if she is really guilty, I needed to think of ways to do it that would make it less suspicious. And so when I met with her, I tasked her with the mission of watching over Rina for reasons that, there were too many enemies surrounding her and we won't be knowing when the next one will attack. As such, someone needs to be secretly watching over her.
After she agreed, Ruben and I went back home to rest, today has indeed been a busy day for me.
-----------------
The next day was the weekend and so there was no school. After breakfast, I decided to stroll to the inn and see Rina. Upon getting there, I saw her about to board a cab.
"Right on time! Join me, let's go shopping!" She yelled at me.
"Shopping?" I asked with a smirk and approached her. "What's the shopping all about and where are we going?" I asked as we got into the cab.
"To the bus station, sir!" She turned and said to the driver who nodded and took off. "You'll know when we get there," she replied to me and looked away.
I squinted my eyes at her and smirked, I may not know what she's up to but I sense it'll be something fun. I kept quiet and said nothing again, I was going to try to be patient no matter what.
Soon, we reached the said bus station and came down from the cab, she paid the driver and then we proceeded to where the buses are parked. Unfortunately, when we got there, the first and second buses were already full and so we went to the third bus with only one passenger — An old man with a white beard all over his body. We greeted him as we climbed into the bus and then went to the last row to take our seats.
"Do you have a weapon?" Rina suddenly asked me.
At first, I wondered why she would be asking me that at a time like this but then I decided to think less of it and reply to her, "I don't have any," I said, not wanting to tell her about my gauntlets.
"Here," she said and summoned a sword from her spatial space. She then handed the sword to me and said, "This is my father's sword, I thought I was going to learn how to use it and protect myself but I couldn't. It'll be a waste to keep storing it inside my spatial space and after thinking over it last night, I decided to give it to you as a way of saying thank you for everything."
I collected the sword and pulled it out of the sheath, the moment I did so, the rising sun reflected on the blade and caused me to close my eyes immediately. I shifted and then opened my eyes to take a better look at it, the edge of the sword was pretty well pointed and the sword itself was very light with a red handle. Seeing the sword, I immediately fell in love with it. Hopefully, I'll be able to learn sword skills so I can use the sword well.
"I like the sword," I replied still smiling. "Are you sure you want to give it to me?" I asked.
"Of course," She replied almost immediately and I chuckled because of it. "With this sword in your possession, you won't be able to forget me," she mumbled as she looked away.
"Did you say something?" I intentionally asked to hear from her.
"Not a word!" She replied as expected and completely looked away.
I smirked and then continued to look at my new sword. With this sword, fighting and killing monsters would become easier, this way, I won't have to use anyone's dagger or sword again.
After a while, the bus became filled with other passengers and then we took off. Halfway into the ride, the bus became noisy with people chatting among themselves, it was from their discussion that I came to know that we were heading to Midcrow City — A city where things were happening.
"Hey, have you guys heard the latest news now?" Someone suddenly asked aloud while staring at his phone.
"What news, man?" Another young man asked the man who spoke.
"Look here!" The first young man said and took his phone to the other man who collected and looked into it.
"Intermediate-level bandits are on the road that leads to Midcrow, what!" He read out loud to the hearing of everyone on the bus. "How's that possible?" He mumbled, not quite sure if he should believe the news or not.
"I don't know, man, but it's true. My sister told me about it some days ago but I thought she wasn't serious, I just hope we don't encounter them or else we are doomed, I do not think that we have mages in this bus, or do we?"
Everyone turned and looked at each other, even I, had to look at myself just in case. Talking about mages, of course, we've got a mage which is me but I bet no one will believe me when I say I'm a mage.
"Sadly, we've got no mages," the young man replied with a hopeless look on his face.
"What about that kid?" The other man asked, directing his gaze at me.
"Him? I don't think so, he doesn't even look like one!"
"What are you thinking?" Rina turned and asked me.
"I'm just thinking about ho—"
"How to make them believe that you are a mage?" She asked, completing the sentence for me.
"You know I'm a mage?" I asked, quite surprised.
"Of course! And I also know that you are a demon!"
