Chapter 57:
Mark's eyes fell upon the Void Ring inside the alchemy bag, and a bold idea suddenly came to him.
The Void Ring, an amazing item from the Equivalent Exchange mod, had a remarkable ability. It could absorb tons of dropped items and reconstruct materials, turning trash into valuable resources like gold ingots and diamonds.
But since Mark hadn't loaded the mod, the concept of "EMC value" didn't exist in his world. This meant the Void Ring couldn't reach its full potential, making it just an item that could absorb things and teleport, which he could already do with his Ender Hand force field.
At first, Mark wanted to save the ring for later, but he changed his mind. The Equivalent Exchange mod could make him really powerful, but he was already incredibly strong. So, what was the point of keeping it?
Instead, Mark decided to use it for real-world experiments. He had Steve take the Void Ring out of the alchemy bag and hand it to him.
Holding the Void Ring, a white light flashed, and a beautiful, mysterious ring appeared in Mark's palm.
He examined the ring closely, noticing its lead-gray color and ancient, faint purple engravings. In the center was a black gemstone that seemed to absorb all light, like a tiny black hole.
The ring radiated unimaginable power. Just holding it felt like all the matter in the world had concentrated in Mark's hand, surpassing any normal level of density.
Activating his Ender Hand force field, Mark was surprised to see the Void Ring react. Its engravings glowed, unleashing a terrifying suction force that quickly weakened his Ender Hand force field.
The gemstone grew even darker, like a living black hole devouring everything around it. The purple halo of the Ender Hand force field surrounded it, resembling the accretion disk of a black hole.
A sense of eerie beauty washed over Mark as he felt a connection with the ring. A strange feeling of immense power inexplicably appeared in his mind.
Instinctively, Mark tried to activate this power.
"Boom!"
Visible ripples spread outward, forming an expanding spherical force field that tore apart and shattered everything in his living room. Within seconds, his entire house exploded, leaving behind a massive crater.
Mark sat amidst the debris, staring at the destruction of his home.
Stunned, he looked down at the Void Ring in his hand.
"Is this still the Void Ring?" Mark couldn't help but feel a sense of disbelief and absurdity. "Damn, is this a Rinnegan ring? Even Pain would be impressed."
Luckily, Mark had chosen a remote location for his house. Otherwise, this incident would have caused a huge commotion.
But this gave Mark some understanding of the Void Ring's power.
The Void Ring was made from the Gem of Eternal Density, Red Matter, and the Black Hole Band. While the Gem of Eternal Density was related to the concept of Aether, the Void Ring focused on density instead of Aether.
This led Mark to believe that the ring contained Aether condensed to an extremely high density. Since Aether represented space, and ultra-high-density space meant infinite spacetime curvature, combined with the Red Matter's ability to tear apart spacetime and the Black Hole Band's gravity, Mark suspected that the Void Ring had a power similar to a black hole—the ability to manipulate gravity.
(TL: Fr? I think the author is just making stuff up here.)
Thinking about the Void Ring, Mark thought about various characters from movies, anime, games, and novels. He quickly organized his thoughts.
He put on the Void Ring and raised his hand, aiming it at a tree by the roadside. The tree's roots were effortlessly ripped from the ground, and the massive tree flew towards Mark at high speed.
With a thought, Mark summoned a powerful force field that collided with the airborne tree. The giant tree instantly shattered into countless fragments, scattered by the force field.
But Mark didn't stop there.
He looked towards a nearby street.
In a flash of black light, Mark disappeared and reappeared on the street.
His sudden appearance startled some nearby birds, which flapped their wings, ready to fly away. Mark raised his hand, catching a bird in mid-air. Its frightened chirps echoed through the air.
Looking at the scared bird in his hand, Mark nodded instinctively, then released it, letting it fly away.
The Void Ring truly lived up to its reputation as a powerful item from Equivalent Exchange. Its power was incredible, able to capture living beings—something the Ender Hand force field couldn't do. Mark felt a sense of satisfaction.
But just as Mark was about to continue testing the Void Ring, his phone rang. He took it out and saw it was Nick Fury calling. He answered immediately.
"Have you got the $9.9 billion ready?" Mark joked. "I've prepared our family's secret potion for you. Three sips, and I guarantee you'll die instantly with no chance of revival..."
"Mr. Mark, Director Fury is in trouble!" Agent Coulson's anxious voice suddenly filled Mark's ear. "S.H.I.E.L.D. base has been attacked, and the enemy has stolen the Tesseract!"
"What the—?!" Mark was compl
etely taken aback.
"...Is he dead?"
