Chapter 12: Mark vs Abomination (4) (End)
Seeing Betty's helicopter get hit, the Hulk charged towards it.
But Mark was faster. In a flash of purple light, he enveloped the helicopter with the Ender Hand, stopping its fall.
But what Mark didn't expect was that while he was busy saving the helicopter, Abomination spotted him on the rooftop.
"There you are, you little bug!"
Abomination grinned. Then he stomped his foot, creating a massive crater in the road and launching himself towards Mark like a rocket.
"Crap!"
Mark hadn't expected Abomination to find him. And Steve, his Stand, was too far away. There wasn't time to call him back.
Just as Mark was about to let go of the helicopter and teleport away with the Ender Hand, a furious roar echoed through the streets. A giant green figure slammed into Abomination, knocking him out of the air.
It was the Hulk.
Even though he'd been called in to fight Abomination, Bruce Banner and the Hulk didn't always agree. Banner might have seen Abomination as an enemy, but the Hulk didn't even know who Abomination was. He was more angry at the military for chasing him.
He'd rather smash tanks than fight Abomination.
But Abomination attacking the helicopter had crossed a line.
The Hulk cared about Betty. And now this Abomination guy was trying to hurt her? The Hulk was furious. He was so angry that even the suppressant he'd been injected with couldn't hold him back anymore.
"Roarrr!!!"
In his rage, the Hulk glowed with a green aura. His muscles bulged, and he grew even taller.
He roared and charged at Abomination, unleashing a flurry of punches that were way stronger than before. Abomination staggered back under the onslaught. Then the Hulk hit him with an uppercut, sending Abomination flying into the air. The Hulk leaped after him, fists clenched, and slammed them down on Abomination. There was a deafening boom as Abomination crashed to the ground.
After that beating, Abomination could only lie there, groaning in pain.
His jaw was practically shattered, and his whole body ached. He was dazed and couldn't get up.
"Roar!!!"
The Hulk was just getting started. He stalked towards Abomination, roaring like he was going to tear him apart.
But then a voice cut through the chaos.
"Hey, Hulk."
The Hulk turned angrily, ready to roar again. But then he saw Mark, holding Betty, who looked pale and scared. "This girl seems pretty shaken up. Can you come over here and comfort her?"
"...?"
The Hulk looked confused.
"She seems to trust you."
Mark had seen the movie, so he knew the Hulk had his own thoughts and feelings. But to Mark, the Hulk was like a big kid. "I saved her from that guy. He didn't hurt her, but she's still scared. She keeps asking for the big green guy, the Hulk, to protect her."
"Huhmm"
The Hulk trembled. He didn't know what to do. All he knew was anger. This was new to him. Betty... wanted him to protect her?
He felt the anger inside him fade, replaced by something else.
Was it... concern? He didn't know.
"Here, catch."
Mark walked over and gently handed Betty to the Hulk. "She's really scared. You need to make her feel safe."
The Hulk carefully reached out his massive hands.
He held Betty gently, like she was something precious. He wanted to comfort her, but he didn't know how. For all his size and strength, he was like a child.
"Take her somewhere safe. I'll deal with this guy."
Mark patted the Hulk's arm and smiled. "Don't worry, I know you're mad at him. I'll make sure he gets what's coming to him. How's that sound?"
As Mark spoke, Steve, who'd been hiding, darted forward and stabbed Abomination in his other eye.
"Arghh!!!"
Abomination screamed in pain and thrashed around.
"Hmm!"
The Hulk seemed pleased to see Abomination suffering. He grinned at Mark, giving him a nod of approval.
The handover went smoothly, and soon the Hulk was carrying Betty away from the chaos.
Now it was Mark's turn.
With both eyes injured, Abomination was no longer a threat. Mark didn't bother with the Ender Hand anymore. He had Steve repeatedly stab Abomination in the butt with his iron sword, weakening him with every strike.
"Damn it! Fight me like a man!"
Abomination lashed out blindly, but Steve was too quick. He'd strike and then retreat, never giving Abomination a chance to hit him.
Soon, Abomination was covered in cuts.
They weren't deep cuts, but there were a lot of them. Abomination was bleeding heavily. Unlike the Hulk, he didn't get stronger when he was angry. He was losing too much blood. He was getting weaker.
"You... damn... bug..."
Abomination weakly tried to fight back. "If it wasn't for the Hulk... you wouldn't stand a chance..."
"Oh really?"
Mark sneered.
There was a soft "thump," and Abomination felt a sharp pain in his back. A crystal-clear blade had pierced through his chest.
"What... is... this..."
Abomination froze, his face contorted in disbelief.
Then the blade shattered, and a gust of wind rushed towards him. Abomination tried to dodge, but with a hole in his heart, he was too weak. He couldn't move fast enough.
"Road roller da!"
Mark's voice echoed through the street as a massive road roller fell from the sky.
Abomination tried to raise his arms to block it, but Mark's hands glowed with purple energy. He slammed his fists into the road roller, adding his strength to its weight. The Ender Hand's power amplified the force of the impact.
With a deafening crash, the road roller smashed into the ground.
The asphalt buckled and cracked. The ground shook for blocks around.

"Just as I planned."
Mark grinned.
The Mutant Creatures mod was pretty simple. It just added a few new monsters to the game, like mutant zombie kings, mutant endermen, mutant creepers, and so on. You could get cool items by defeating them.
The Ender Hand Mark was using was a drop from the mutant Enderman king.
Mark hadn't expected the real-world version of the Ender Hand to be so powerful. It didn't break, and it was incredibly strong. He could even lift a helicopter with it. That was awesome.
When the Ender Hand materialized, it became like a force field, and it seemed like he could stack those force fields. If that was true, Mark planned to kill a bunch of mutant Enderman kings when he got back to the Minecraft world and become even stronger.
While Mark was happy, Nick Fury was not.
This whole thing was supposed to be handled by the authorities. S.H.I.E.L.D. wasn't supposed to get involved. Mark had gone off on his own and caused a huge mess. They were going to hear about this from the higher-ups.
When Mark had used the road roller, he'd nearly caused a subway station to collapse. Who knew how much it would cost to fix that?
If they took the repair costs out of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s budget, Fury was going to be furious.
"Couldn't you have used a less destructive spell?"
Fury found Mark and immediately started complaining. "Do you have any idea how much damage you and the Hulk have caused?"
"Well, why don't you do it yourself then?"
Mark wasn't intimidated by Fury. He shrugged. "But are you willing to use those energy weapons? Or maybe show off the Helicarrier?"
"Is there anything you don't know?"
Fury rubbed his forehead. He was about ready to give up. "The Helicarrier's still in the testing phase. We can't deploy it yet..."
But just as he said that, more trouble arrived.
A military armored vehicle pulled up. General Ross, looking very unhappy, stepped out, limping slightly.
"I appreciate your help, Fury."
General Ross gave Mark a wary look, then turned to Fury. "But don't you think you owe me an explanation? What the hell is going on here?"
