Chapter 13 - Chapter 6.2

The heavy footsteps fell silently on the ground, creating a sense of impending doom.

Five meters, three meters... and then a sudden attack!

Kevin swiftly struck the belly of the black-eared wolf with his blade.

Just as the wolf's claws were about to reach Kevin's face, and Kevin's blade was poised on its belly, a piercing scream echoed through the night and reached the ears of Kevin, Oswald, and the two beasts.

"Dad!!!"

Upon hearing this, Kevin's hands trembled. Could it be that this little brat was mistakenly identifying him as his father? Who is this kid mistaking him for?!

In the next moment, Kevin was hit by a force like a cannonball, staggering backward and tumbling together with Oswald. Simultaneously, a chaotic sound of footsteps surrounded them, closing in from all directions. Kevin rose from the ground and saw that the Bronze Army squad had arrived and was surrounding the two fierce beasts.

The little brat had transformed back into his beast shape, relentlessly slapping the black-eared wolf's face against the ground with his paw. He then pushed the blind lion aside and vigorously rubbed its body before finally stopping.

This method of greeting seemed cruel and rude, as their claws were sharp and could inflict flesh wounds at any moment.

"..." Mio entered from the alley, leading a vulture.

He observed the chaotic scene for a while before finding an angle to intervene, "So... these two beasts are trailing you closely, but you're being chased out by His Majesty?"

The Bronze Army squad remained silent, with a sense of shadows overwhelming their hearts, spanning the entire city.

Unconcerned with training the Bronze Army squad, Oswald remarked that Kevin being thrown off was a typical consequence of his indiscriminate defense. At least, both Oswald and Kevin remained unharmed and alive. Compared to that, he was more concerned about the three massive beasts currently entangled in front of him.

Bronze Army Squad: "..."

The origin of the unknown cub belonged to the giant beast race, and he referred to the blind male lion as his father.

Oswald snorted, looked at Kevin, and questioned, "It seems this brat has been looking for them. How many years has his family entrusted you with his care, as agreed upon? Huh?"

Kevin's realization struck hard, causing him to drop the can he was holding and feign ignorance, stating, "Well, um... solve the immediate problem before discussing anything else."

"You always have something to say," Oswald snorted through his nose, conveying his disbelief.

He then turned his attention to the little lion and demanded, "Change them back into their human forms, or we can't trust you and retrieve our weapons. Do you understand, brat?"

In the blink of an eye, the little lion transformed back into a boy and glanced around, shaking his head repeatedly. "I'm afraid I can't do that right now. They can't change back."

"Why?" Oswald furrowed his brow.

Kevin responded to the cub, "One of them is too hungry. As far as I know, giant beastmen instinctually maintain their animal form when they are extremely weak, as it provides stronger attack capabilities for self-defense. The other... I suspect they were given some sort of potion, causing them to become almost crazed and too excited to revert."

The little lion nodded and exclaimed, "Give me some meat, and I'll call you Second Dad!"

Kevin thought to himself, "Your father is right beside you. Aren't you afraid of getting punished for speaking that way?"

"What a mess!" Oswald was bewildered by the brat's audacity. He motioned for the Bronze Army team to help the young boy bring the two beasts into the abandoned temple of Crow's Nest.
