In all of the years that Commander Kanon Sokolov had commanded the Umbra Knights, this was the first time that he had ever felt something stuck in his throat just as soon as he was about to go ahead and address something to the people who were going to listen to his speech.
This time, he had something stuck in his throat that he had a hard time trying to get it out of. One of the three Umbra Knight rookies butted in and spoke on his behalf after noticing that it was hard on Kanon Sokolov to continue speaking.
"W-We would like to apologize for the death of our friend and comrade. He lost his life because we were being inept and we did not make use of our training in a meaningful manner. We were weak and that is why we lost…" He explained to the crowd that it was the reason why they were now only four instead of five.
