Matilda's POV:
Alpha Baron's face had been dark the whole time, and I couldn't stop laughing. Well, maybe part of his bad mood had something to do with me—a very, very small part.
He pursed his lips, and his cheeks puffed up like a child who hadn't gotten his favorite candy.
I had meant to tease him this morning, and then things got a little out of hand, thanks to Alan and Judy. If they hadn't come, I would have hugged him all morning. Unfortunately, this wasn't a good time or place.
Suddenly, I felt cold. It was a familiar feeling. The prophecy appeared again. It was the same blood-stained land. The crows were sitting on the branches and making coarse noises.
I blinked. The next second, the scene disappeared. I took a deep breath. I didn't know if I should tell Baron about this.
He knew I was part witch, but the prophecy was different. I wasn't sure if it was a prophecy or just an image to upset me.
