Svetlana Vautoure was a rational child. She accepted her reality, pushed through life circumstances, and just lived. She did not dwell too much on her past or her supposed reincarnated life.
She sometimes thought that maybe her personality was influenced by the medic-woman (Lana liked to call her yester, as in yesterday). She knew from her dreams that yester did not enjoy her job and was more passionate about being at home and just chilling.
Yester's job was very demanding, grueling, and mentally exhausting. In yester's few final moments of her life, she desired an early retirement. The job just did not feel very noble anymore for yester.
Lana agreed that life is supposed to be enjoyed wholeheartedly. She also believed that she needed to work smart for it.
Lana was grateful for the knowledge she knew from yester. She made sure to remember them as much as she could lest someday they be useful as apparently yester was from the future. Yester knew one or two things about some companies in the future that do well and others.
Hence, Lana read as many books, novels, comics, and newspapers as possible. She needed to compare yester's memories to her current time: 1984. Alas, yester's memory was not as extensive for her time as yester was born in 1994. But, she knew some memories matched her current time, such as company names, books that came out a few decades ago, etc.
So, Lana clings to the memories to take necessary steps toward her life goals: an enjoyable life where she just chilled. Meaning that financial independence was paramount.
For now, though, Lana was content to read books and go to school with other children her age.
(2 years later)
Lana was 7 now. She was currently in her 4th year of primary school.
Lana skipped 2 years of her classes as she was more advanced than her peers due to yester's knowledge. She could go higher but restrained herself to avoid social suicide. She needed the facade.
If she went higher now, the older children would be wary of her and isolate her. Also, everybody knew that too much intelligence (read; geniuses) sometimes was collected to be researched. She did not want that. So, she stayed under the radar. She kept to her current level and just persevered.
Sometimes, it frustrated her to lower her mental age to those of 7-10 years old when she was already in her 20s (at least for yester).
Lana knew that, above all, she needed to be cunning about it. She needed to stay out of trouble and popularity. It was not hard as Lana was a determined child. So she went along with her friends (read: acquaintances) to play when the situation arose and kept to herself at the other times. Lana knew her friends' names, but enough to match their names to their faces.
She kept conversations to mundane things and went along with her peers when needed. It resulted in free bullying for her. She was never bullied and never bullied. Life could never be any easier.
Perfect!
