As Kit took me through the town and made me introduce myself I discovered that not everyone's mind is blocked so far it's just Daisy and Clark. I have a theory that for Clark it's because she's a medium but I'm still puzzled by Daisy. After a whole day of going through the town I discovered that it's not small nor deserted, they have a fair population of twenty thousand people living here. On our way to Clark's house we were passed by a fairly large group of ghosts, but other than being silent they all looked to be decaying, which is odd for a ghost not only because their dead but because when they die they can choose what they look like as long as it's something they've worn when they were alive.
After the strange encounter with the group of ghosts, which I made a mental note to ask clark about later. Kit and I made our way up the driveway to what seemed to be a very large and kinda rundown house. Clark was waiting for us on the front steps. " Wow, nice house." I say still looking it over. " Thanks, it's been in my family for generations but since it was just me it got kinda lonely, but you're here now so this should be fun. Come on, I'll show you the inside." Clark says excitedly, grabbing my hand.
After being dragged through the front door by Clark I was faced with a beautifully lit and furnished front area, after taking in the lovely craftsmanship of the wooden stair railings Clark took me through the rest of the house telling me about how her whole family on her moms side were made up of psychics and mediums. She took me though the huge kitchen that opened up to a fair sized dining area, did I mention she has her own movie theater not to mention the swimming pool in the backyard. She finally led me upstairs where she showed me where the library, laundry room, and bathrooms are then continued to what she said would be my room. To say it was fucking huge would be an understatement, who needs this much space, the room had floor to ceiling book shelves, a king sized bed, a walk in closet and a massive bathroom attached to it. Again who needs this many bathrooms.
I had to laugh when Clark said that the room also had its own balcony. " So what do you think, wanna come stay with me?" Clark asked, suddenly sounding shy, I looked at her and smiled. " Your house is amazing!, and if you insist I'd love to stay with you like you said it could be fun, plus I'm in need of a best friend." I'm still smiling. Clark rushes at me and gives me the biggest hug, when she lets go we both laugh when she says. " I could use a best friend too." After a few moments I say " ok well let me just go back to the motel and get my bag and drop off the key." she shakes her head and Kit appears out of fucking nowhere holding my backpack, with a huge grin he says. " no need bug, I took care of that when you and Clark were on the house tour." he hands me my bag and I thank him then say. " Did you seriously just call me bug?" we all laugh as we all agree for that to be their nickname for me, don't ask why, I just kinda find it cute.

Last night was another decent night of sleep. I woke up well rested. Clark said yesterday before we said goodnight that I could start work today so after trying to drag my ass out of bed to take a shower I found that Clark left me some clothes to wear for the day. Just a simple outfit: a dark grey tank top, a pair of gray camouflage cargo pants and an army green jacket with no sleeves. Clark also said on our way out of the house that after we closed the shop for the day that she'd take me clothes shopping, she also offered to pay me daily. I know most people would say that this is all too good to be true and hey maybe they're right but I never had a good thing going for me and I may be a little naive but I think I might like it here in Bitterbrook.
Once in the SUV Clark starts the engine and starts to drive down her driveway, as we turn onto the main road I remember that yesterday I forgot to ask Clark something so I decided to ask her now. " Hey Clark, yesterday when me and Kit were walking around we kinda ran into what seemed to be a large group of decaying ghosts, you don't happen to know about that do you?" I sneak a glance at her as she smoothly switches lanes. "So you noticed that huh" she says, I just nod my head in response waiting for her to continue. " Well to be honest with you I'm not sure what they are or where they come from, you gotta remember that I can't see them I can only feel them and so far I've only been getting that more spirits just keep showing up, I have no idea why. Frankly, I try not to think about it." she says with a slight tremble in her voice, huh whatever it is it seems to scare Clark. " Do you know when they started showing up here?" I ask now, looking at her. She shakes her head and says. "No I don't, all I know is that something is drawing them here and I have a feeling that whatever it is, it's not friendly," she says as she glances between me and the road.
After that we just stay silent for a while just letting her words soak in. I get startled from my deep thoughts when Clark starts to speak. " I'll have to drop you off at the shop, I need to go pick something up. If you don't mind, I'd much appreciate it if you could open up the store for me. I promise I won't be more than a few hours as I have to travel a little ways out of town." she says, sounding a little shy like she expects me to say no. " I'd love to, so take as much time as you need. I'm sure I can handle it." Clark smiles at this, and as she pulls up to the front of the shop to drop me off she assures me that one of her other employees will be around soon.
