The children gathered for folktales under the mango tree

Ma gadu sat down circled  by the children .the children  faces was felled with enthusiasm to  listen to today folktales .

She started ...

" good afternoon,my children" she greeted .

"Good  afternoon  ma"

" Today , I will tell  a folktale about tortoise ,the fake  fortune teller "

Ma gadu looked around  ..and smiled .

........ it begins when

Tortoise was dusting his shoes ...whistling songs . He wore his cap  and put on his shoe  still whistling songs..he walks briskly on the street  ..

Various  animals were busy working carrying foods to there Various  houses .

Tortoise  will ignored them and sometimes  threatened  of killing them if they call him to work or any thing that is stressful..

One day , rabbit approached Tortoise..

" Tortoise, come and work..you are getting lanky " rabbit advised.

" are you okay ? I am getting lanky!!! is it your body? " HE shouted at him..

Mr tortoise  sat down alone among the woods ..all the animals  have went to their various  farms ..he sat down lonely and bored.

" how  can I get  food ?" He asked himself .he started  to draw on the ground  with a stick.

Goat was eavesdropping what he was saying. Goat  is also one of the lazy ones in the animal. Kingdom ,he does nothing than to eat other animals crops ..

Goat  came out from his hidden place in the woods .

" good morning ,tortoise " Goat greeted .

Tortoise was shocked cause he don't exchange words with Goat.

At his first instinct he thought  Goat  was one of the animals that want to have fun of him and give him stupid advise.

"  What do you  want from me ? " tortoise said frowning  his face .

" I am not here to advice you .I don't also like working but I have a solution to our problem of food " Goat said .

Tortoise  looked at him full of interest.

" speak up ,my friend " tortoise said eager to know the solution.

Goat whispered some words  Into his hear ...

NEXT  DAY

Tortoise walked on the street with pride  in a traditional attire.

Animals on their  way to farm start to point abusive fingers  at  him calling  him  bad names ..tortoise don't even react .

Tortoise mount a rock  .  " my fellow animals ,I  saw a vision " tortoise said .

The animals laughed hilariously .

" hungry man have started  to see vision  " one of the animals mocked him .

Tortoise did not react for the first time .

He continued .." I saw  a vision that antelope farm was on fire "

Antelope  was shocked while his wife fainted immediately.

Tortoise giggled .goat plan is working .

" I have a solution " tortoise  offered .

All the animals were calm as silence dominated the atmosphere like chief in state.

" I can only avert this disaster ,if you can provide  2 yams , two bunch of bananas. To please the god of fire " tortoise said.

" tortoise, when to you turn to a  fortune teller? " cat asked .cat stares at tortoise with suspiciously.

Tortoise cursed cat silently. 

" if you don't trust me. Antelope  will bear the debt not you " he said confidently.  Antelope  was scared .

" I will provide it, tortoise " Antelope said .he swallowed his spit  hard .

Antelope is one  of the hard working  animals in the kingdom that have the largest farm and couldn't  afford  to lose it ,which makes him a easy target for  tortoise .

Tortoise and goat sat on a old stool dining  together .Antelope had brought the requested foodstuff tortoise required  for appeasement to god of fire .

Tortoise was very happy because he did not need to work before he can eat .

Tortoise choose goat has his best friend now.

" cat is a thorn in our throat , I think he should be our next target " Goat suggested . Tortoise rinsed his hand inside a bowl after finishing the  meal .

" yes , he almost discouraged  antelope ."

" he is our next target" tortoise smiled .

TWO DAYS LATER

Market day

Animals were buying and selling .they were rattling like peas . They  walks in three and fours  chatting and  greeting  friends .

Tortoise was also  inside the market in his usual traditional  attire.

Goat was his right man  .  Goat beat his  Kong hard to get the attention of the animals .

" the gods want to speak through tortoise " Goat announced he beat the Kong  again . The animals gathered round them .

" the gods want to warn cat " tortoise said .he pretended  he was in the spirit realm .

Cat stares  angrily and meow . " What do you want from me ? You this trickster " !!.

" the gods said your farm will be on fire by the next market day if you don'.
