Chapter 3 - Silverwood Gallery

Kiri's pov,

I asked Lea to sleep in my condo today as it had been a long time since we had a sleepover. That's a reason too but I am actually very scared to sleep alone. We bought some food for ourselves on the way. We had little chit-chat and had dinner.

"Lea, I found a cute dress online." I sat on my bed with my laptop.

"A dress?" She sat next to me.

"Look. Isn't it cute?" I scrolled through the website.

"I thought it was 'one dress' that's a lot." she chuckled. "This one's cute though."

We net surfed for more than an hour now. An e-mail popped up.

"An E-mail at this time?" Lea said looking at the clock it was already midnight.

"Let's read it." I opened my e-mail inbox and clicked on the mail.

It said, "If you want to know more about the book visit the Silverwood Gallery." I looked at Lea who was as much as shocked as I was.

"What's the mail address of the sender?" she asked.

I checked the sender's mail address, "unknown231@mail.com, what the hell?"

Lea grabbed my laptop and searched for the Silverwood Gallery on the net. Fortunately, the gallery did exist. It was a very old gallery in Emden city. The city was 400 Km from our location. After an hour of discussion, we decided to ignore the message, we didn't want any trouble and went to sleep. I quickly dozed off, it was quite a tiring day today. That's when I heard voices in my dream. Everything was black.

I heard a young girl's voice, "Lena, Is it true?"

"What's true?" another voice added.

"You are getting married!" the girl exclaimed.

These voices, I've never heard of them before. But somehow...

"You don't even know how happy I am!" the voice continued.

"It's my wedding and you are the one who is over the moon." the other girl said chuckling.

Hearing this conversation made me happy somehow. Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain in my head. I was standing somewhere...blood splattered everywhere, dead bodies, people screaming for help. A girl ran past me saying, "I have to stop Lena."

Lena, that name gave some comfort, I've heard it somewhere...I felt another sharp pain and this time I saw visuals of someone dying, Someone who was important to me. Before I knew it tears started rolling down my eyes. "LENA!" was the first thing to come out of my mouth.

"Kiri! Kiri! wake up!" I heard Lea's anxious voice. My eyes burst open and saw Lea worriedly looking at me.

"Are you okay?" she asked.

"Of course I am. what's wrong?" I sat up.

"You were crying in your sleep."

"Huh? Me? Hahaha, why would I? *touches her cheeks* It's wet..." I quickly got out of bed and stood in front of the mirror. My eyes were red. Did I cry for a whole night? That was when I remembered about my dream but it was all scattered. I couldn't remember it correctly. I explained to Lea whatever I had in my memory. Of course, I couldn't remember the name I screamed crying. Weird. That's when we realised that we had to vist this 'Silverwood Gallery'.

Lea's pov,

The next morning, we got into my car and drove to Emden city. On our way, we stopped for food and asked people over there for directions. We made it to Emden city, It was beautiful. We booked a hotel to stay in for the night, this hotel was not cheap for sure It was one of the famous hotel in Emden and we somehow ended up here. The next morning we had breakfast and left for Silverwood Gallery. It is 2 km far from the hotel. After driving for hours we finally reached the Silverwood gallery. There were a lot of people gathered, tourists, families, couples, and students. We bought ourselves a ticket from the counter and entered the gallery. The Gallery was mesmerizing. It had portraits, pieces of jewellery of great kings and queens, statues and many other antiques which were eye-catching.

"Do you find anything strange here?" Kiri asked looking at a painting on the wall.

"No, nothing. That's weird." I responded.

"I hope we find something here. We literally lost all of our monthly salary for this ticket and the hotel. How are we gonna survive?" Kiri's face turned blue.

"I hope we do." I said looking at a group of people gathered in front of a painting. "What's going on over there?"

Kiri and I walked close to the crowd, "WOW! It's so magical!" a woman in the crowd exclaimed. "Yeah, do these things really exist in this world?" the man next to her said. Meanwhile, we both tried to see the portrait which we weren't able to see because of the crowd. Kiri managed to push the people aside making space for us both and there it was the 'strange thing' we were looking for in the gallery. The moment I saw the portrait tears rolled down my eyes, Kiri was crying too. After seeing this portrait, I was SURE that somehow I was connected to this mystery and not only me, Kiri too....
