Cynthia's back stiffened at first. Why would her husband leave everything and run after her? The only reason she was able to leave so casually was that she trusted him to handle everything in her absence. In addition to that, she spoke to him as her lawyer, she thought she made herself clear.
His loyalty to her must've taken its toll on him. Wasn't it why he covered her eyes? Because he knew her so well and knew that she desperately wanted to cry but wouldn't give the Greens the satisfaction of watching her shed one tear because of the terror they planted in her heart and mind?
But George must've been pretty much shaken up too by the events that went down inside. His hand was ice cold and shivering. She knew that he didn't want things to reach a court of law and how hard he must've worked to prevent them from going that route.
Was he here to persuade her to take what she said to him back? Or was he here to offer her comfort?
