Just as Aiden told her, June got to the office early in the morning. She texted Mr. Blake to let him know about the meaning, just in case.
Mr. Blake was in charge of the international communication department. He worked along Mr. Firestorm most of the time.
Mr. Blake had already arrived when she got to the office. Aiden let them in. Two black chairs waited for them to sit. June wore a white suit for that day, it was her business suit.
"You must fire her...." Aiden sat on the chair and spoke.
June and Mr. Blake exchanged looks.
"I'm afraid it's not possible..." , said Mr. Blake. He had both hands laced together.
"I'm not asking you. It 's an order!"
Mr. Blake scratched his neck, he used to do that gesture when talking to stubborn clients.
"I apologized... young man. Your father was clear. Only I can fire June. 'Doesn't matter who gives the order. I have the last word."
The air at the office got heavy. An uncomfortable silence slipped in. June jumped when the clock on the wall ticked.
"Why should I keep her then?", said Aiden.
June felt sick. Millionaires always looked at her with disgust but Aiden Firestorm seemed to hate her. Yet, it was easy for her to make people like her. Why did he hate her so much?
"June is an important key to make our company grow" , said Mr. Blake.
Those words echoed in the office. June thought Mr. Firestorm said that because he cared about her. She soon discovered she was wrong. Mr. Firestorm had everything already planned.
"What on earth....?" Aiden raised his hands to the sky.
"Your father said so."
"...."
Aiden put his arms down. His face was scary. June touched the moon brazalete on her wrist. She didn't dare to look at Aiden. She didn't understand why she had been hired, but Mr. Firestorm gave her a mission to complete.
"What's she supposed to do?"
"June has a rare talent." Mr. Blake twitched his thumbs. "She makes people like her."
It felt more than a rare talent for her. It came naturally. June moved her feet up and down feeling anxious.
"Surprised, surprised... I don't like her!" Aiden pointed at her with one finger.
'Didn't your mother teach you any matters?', she thought. Her mother used to say: 'Don't point at people's faces, June. It 's impolite.'
"June" , Mr. Blake looked at her, "Were you trying to make Aiden like you?
"No", she said bluntly.
Mr. Blake now turned his face back to Aiden. "Listen, son", said the man scolding the CEO. "Your father planned to make tons of connections this year. We need June at the social events."
Aiden furrowed his brow. "You're saying she's just a pretty face to show at the events."
June lifted her eyebrows. She didn't consider herself pretty. Every time she looked at the mirror she saw a young face that didn't match her real age. In fact, on her first day working people asked: 'Aren't you quite young to work?'
Mr. Blake opened his mouth to answer but June spoke first.
"Ah…... no.... You guys are the pretty face, I'm the brain."
The CEO lifted one eyebrow. Mr. Blake just nodded.
"Trust me, son. She will be more helpful than you think."
Mr. Blake closed the matter with those last words; he stood up, waved to them, and walked away. Silence filled the room once more.
June gazed at Aiden. He had his eyes fixed on the floor. He looked tired, depressed, and a dark shadow covered his eyes.
Elian Firestorm didn't seem depressed when his father died. Aiden, on the other hand, had a sad aura flowing through his body. It was possible for him to miss his father. Mr. Firestorm used to talk a lot about Aiden, they seemed close.
"You won't notice my existence, I swear...." said June.
"Why you?" he muttered.
".... what….?"
Aiden pushed his body up with his hands on the table and got close to her. His dark eyes burned as fire.
"Why did he choose you...?"
She has been asking herself the same question. The old man was probably just doing an act of charity with her, or maybe he did believe in her.
"I don't know...." she gulped but didn't look away from the predator.
The CEO backed off and sat down again. "Don't disturb the team."
June nod. She let out her breath when she got out of the CEOs office.

The team looked at June once she got back, they're faces were worried. She didn't say anything about the new CEO, but they knew about their meeting. June ignored their questioning looks.
She took out a box under a table with her stuff. She hid it there when she first arrived just in case she had to leave or move to that department. The whole place darkened when the employees saw the box. She knew what they were thinking, so she hugged her box tightly and pretended to walk out of the room.
"Ah...."
She turned back, smiling. "Forget it. You ain't getting rid of me!" she shouted.
"June..." said Kiara with a heartbroken expression on her face.
June laughed and walked to one of the booths at the end of the room. She opened her box; she placed some pictures around her desk, lights with the shape of a half moon, and a clown teddy bear that used to belong to the chairman. She used to be afraid of clowns but somehow the teddy bear just looked cute.
She turned on the PC and wrote down her username and password. Almost half an hour passed when she received a private message on her chat.
'I'm going to hire new employees. You must fire the following people.'
